brewblackhole (1367), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Apr 3, 2009 On tap at Romans on GI Night. Aroma was a slight apple tinged German malt, all very soft as it should be,this style not known for a big fragrance, Taste mostly grainey with just a hint of tartness, and some noticeable bittering, little bite from the carbonation, pleasant as can be, probaly tastes better when its more like summer FunkyBrewster (437), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 1, 2009 Ours a shiny golden yellow with a thick creamy white head. Aroma is very nice fresh grain that doesn’t come across as stale or old. Nice bits of citric fruit and just a hint of spicy hops. Flavor starts with a burst of sweet citric fruit that is inviting and refreshing. Picks up some grain and bread notes before giving a spicy hop bite towards the finish that tickles the tongue through the swallow leaving a dry crisp finish. Medium body and active carbonation. Really resfresing for the kolsch style and perfect for the hot dog days of summer. shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA Mar 31, 2009 i prefer 312 to summertime. this was ok. light golden , . not a bad bbq summertime beer. beeronmypants (15), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Mar 29, 2009 Great fluffy head. Nice lace finish. Sour, grainy nose. Powdery palate. It does have a crisp kolsh flavor but very citrusy. Leaves something to be disired. CanIHave4Beers (838), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Mar 29, 2009 Pours a clear light golden color with a nice fluffy white medium head.
The aroma is very bright with some orange and some yeastiness.
Flavors of citrus are certainly prevalent in this one with a big orange character and some nice dry graininess. This is remarkably fruity without being very sweet.
Nothing to blow me over but I can imagine I’ll be drinking a few more of these this summer.
iamqueensblvd (181), , Iowa, USA Mar 23, 2009 Updated: Jul 11, 2009Very refreshing beer with a very prominent head. Strong citrus smell is followed by a subtle yet satisfying citrus flavor on the palate. Light orange coloration when it is poured. Really is, as the name suggests, a great summer beer. tdcritch (112), Missouri, USA Mar 4, 2009 Bottle. Light gold color. Medium sized head. Lemon, Honey and Wheat aromas. Hoppy dry finish. Decent Summer Beer. Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England Feb 25, 2009 Bottle. Sweet, fairly refreshing but with an odd soapy character. This was absolutely nothing special.
