Commercial Description:
Kolsch, the clean and refreshing beer style of Cologne, Germany, quenches summertime thirst. This pale golden ale with a lightly fruity aroma is cold-conditioned or lagered after its primary fermentation. More simply, our Summertime uses only the finest malts and German hops to create the perfect beer for hot Summer days and warm Summer nights.

Bottle at the O’Hare venue. The only change here seems to be the seasonal bottle. Pale gold color, slightly hazy, with an ok white head. Light citrus aroma over pale malt. Medium minus body with mild carbonation. Flavor is light hop over light malt. More dry than not. Seems a kolsch.

Appearance: moderately rich gold color for the style; mild haze; white head with above average persistence Aroma: overall, still quite muted; maybe light malt plus slight hop; does have mild fruit aroma; Flavor: light fruity sweetness; low to medium-low bitterness; low hop presence; good spark from carbonation Mouthfeel: textbook; smooth and crisp; closer to medium body; high carbonation

Seriously, over 60 Goose Island ratings and I never rated the Summertime? I remember really loving this beer when I first started drinking non garbage. Pours gold with white head. Just a little bit of hops to add some bitterness and citrus and a nice body. Makes this beer really easy to drink in the summertime. I prefer this over the 312.

Pours yellow color with a small white head. Nose of fruits, grainy, earthy hops. Inital taste is grainy like the aroma, touch of citrus, small balancing sweetness, some resin. Finishing with a average palate duration and decent hop balance. Refreshing and crisp.Average head retention. Good balancing carbonation.

On tap at Romans on GI Night. Aroma was a slight apple tinged German malt, all very soft as it should be,this style not known for a big fragrance, Taste mostly grainey with just a hint of tartness, and some noticeable bittering, little bite from the carbonation, pleasant as can be, probaly tastes better when its more like summer

Ours a shiny golden yellow with a thick creamy white head. Aroma is very nice fresh grain that doesn’t come across as stale or old. Nice bits of citric fruit and just a hint of spicy hops. Flavor starts with a burst of sweet citric fruit that is inviting and refreshing. Picks up some grain and bread notes before giving a spicy hop bite towards the finish that tickles the tongue through the swallow leaving a dry crisp finish. Medium body and active carbonation. Really resfresing for the kolsch style and perfect for the hot dog days of summer.

Great fluffy head. Nice lace finish. Sour, grainy nose. Powdery palate. It does have a crisp kolsh flavor but very citrusy. Leaves something to be disired.
