Commercial Description:
Kolsch, the clean and refreshing beer style of Cologne, Germany, quenches summertime thirst. This pale golden ale with a lightly fruity aroma is cold-conditioned or lagered after its primary fermentation. More simply, our Summertime uses only the finest malts and German hops to create the perfect beer for hot Summer days and warm Summer nights.

Pours a clear light golden color with a nice fluffy white medium head. The aroma is very bright with some orange and some yeastiness. Flavors of citrus are certainly prevalent in this one with a big orange character and some nice dry graininess. This is remarkably fruity without being very sweet. Nothing to blow me over but I can imagine I’ll be drinking a few more of these this summer.

Very refreshing beer with a very prominent head. Strong citrus smell is followed by a subtle yet satisfying citrus flavor on the palate. Light orange coloration when it is poured. Really is, as the name suggests, a great summer beer.

Bottle. Sweet, fairly refreshing but with an odd soapy character. This was absolutely nothing special.

12 oz bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. Hazy yellow color. Sweetish, malty and honeyish aroma with some fruitiness and apricot. Tastes the same with low bitterness. Pleasant and easy drinking.

Bottle. Quite boring a void of any interesting flavours or characters. Some tinned fruit notes, with a vacuous finish.

Draft at Goose Island Clybourne. 5 oz. Taster glass. Pours clear yellow, no head. Crisp citrus hop aroma and flavor. Lemon in the nose and mouth. Very zesty and smooth. Great stuff!
