Fresh on tap at Clybroun, this was an absolutely superb Kölsch, better than most I’ve had in Cologne.
I like:
Absolutely spot on. This is one pint I downed in less than 10 minutes and could have done it again until I fell as natural as it felt. Precisely what I’m looking for in the style. Hugely refreshing, focused, crisp soft cerealic taste, based on doughy freshness. Lasting lacy white head. Gentle creamy, minimal acidity acts as a bonus. Not bubbly, but enthusiast, rather big-bubbled, coating carbonation. Soft noble hop kiss in the finish leaves lots of room for the breadiness and graininess. Fresh! Fresh! Fresh!
I dislike:
I can’t believe how low this is scored. The bottles must not translate the exuberant freshness all that well.

Medium body with sweet malts and basically no hoppiness. Drinkable but bland. 190908 Boutip (2347), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 22, 2008 Bottle: Poured a golden color Kolsch with an average pure white foamy head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of some semi-sweet malt with not much else to report. Taste is a mix between some semi-sweet malt without the grainy aspect and no distinctive feature form the yeast which is usually the case with this style. Average at best and not something I would like to try again. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 21, 2008 Bottle. A Kolsch eh? Thought this was a little bland and lacking anything that would make me drink this again given any choice. Pale yellow gold (like a lucky lucky man’s bracelet) with a thin white head. A little watery and metallic. Didn’t care for it much, but didn’t hate it. Cheers. mcmd (134), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Taste is slightly sweet caramel with bitterness in the fihish. Crisp and refreshing. Nice Kolsch. JJClark (545), Roscoe, Illinois, USA
