oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Aug 11, 2008 Bottled@GBBF2008. Yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is hops, fruits and mild cellary notes Quite hayish flavour with some saltwater and sweet fruity notes. KimJohansen (6645), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 Clear golden with medium white head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel notes. Sweet fruity flavor with malty and caramel notes. Ends sweet. BeerBelcher (930), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 1, 2008 I give this beer credit for seeming Kolsch-like, as I understand the style from previous experiences with the style. It is very crisp with a metallic flavor I’ve tasted in other Kolsch’s. Not bad, but this wouldn’t be my first choice of beer to have on a hot day. However, I do give Goose Island credit for making a summer seasonal that is a genuine beer style, and resisting the temptation to make a summer beer that is fruity, citrus-y, and too sweet.
Appearance is a clear pale yellow, that is translucent. Aroma is faint. Flavor is crisp and metallic. Mouthfeel is clean, dry and crisp.
Like I said, I’d weakly recommend this. Not bad. Brewmaster1 (9), Westchester, USA does not count Jul 29, 2008 Great summertime beer. I’ve tried pretty much all of the other "summeetime" beers put out by brewers and this is one of my favorites. Great for a hot summer day. Citrus, lemon taste, and a nice golden yellow color. Not too thick of a head but just enough to get the job done. Slightly over priced in my opinion. Paid $7.99 for a 6 pack on sale. Should be more like $6.99 at the most. Ceebs25 (217), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pretty good pour, medium bubbly white head, good staying power for it being so bubbly, nice lacing, golden straw yellow, ton of carbonation. Light aroma, mostly light yeast and lemon, dinner rolls. Not as fizzy tasting as it looks (a good thing), light bodied, but fairly hoppy, some citrus, grassy, slightly evident pale malt, crisp dry finish. Alright, did the trick on the 4th of july though. maniac4016 (114), bill clinton, Iceland Jul 27, 2008 nice and crisp, clean, lemony flavor with nice long finish, one of the better domestic summer-styles imho, great for hot/humid illinios summers. outstanding joe19612 (673), camberley, Surrey, England Jul 27, 2008 Bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Light, slighlty fruity, smooth, easy on the palate. Just a wonderful beer CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Jul 27, 2008 Not awesome, but much better than expected. Very true, it would taste great on a hot summer day, but that’s why air conditioning was invented and I can drink whatever I want despite the season.
