Commercial Description:
Kolsch, the clean and refreshing beer style of Cologne, Germany, quenches summertime thirst. This pale golden ale with a lightly fruity aroma is cold-conditioned or lagered after its primary fermentation. More simply, our Summertime uses only the finest malts and German hops to create the perfect beer for hot Summer days and warm Summer nights.

Extremely refreshing. Nice and light with very pleasant carbonation. Sweet malt very nicely balanced with the hops. I actually went through this one so fast that it’s tough to remember much of anything specific. Would definitely be willing to give a proper tasting to later on when I’m not so thirsty.

Pours a hazy straw, minimal white head. Caramelly, slightly smoky aroma, a bit of green apple. Flavor starts dry and astringent and very sour. Finishes sort of malty and lagery. Medium-thin body and with good complementing fizzyness.

This beer is very light and drinkable. The taste leaves a little to be desired, but I suppose Kolsch is a pretty mild style. I would buy again, especially on a hot day.

Tap at Old Chicago, Old Town, Wichita. WTF is this? It smells and tastes like modeling clay (for the latter, add a bit of sugar substitute in there as well). It looks okay-- average yellow-- but smells and tastes like friggin’ modeling clay!

On tap @ the brewpub. Golden coloured with a medium sized head. Nice and crisp with notes of metal, bread and grass.

Nice pale yellow pour, with a smaller white head. The head dissipates fast. Aroma is slight hop, with some lemon grass notes. Body is on the light side of medium. Not at all watery, rather very crisp and clean. the lemon grass comes out in the nose of the flavor. The finish is fast and clean. The carbonation is not over powering. This is good beer. I didn’t have high hopes....I was pleasantly surprised.

Kolsch might be one of my favorite type of lagers. Pale yellow pour with medium sudsy white head. Aroma of grass. Flavor is very light like a dry cider. Finish is slight hops & some bitter. Body is crisp which compliments the flavor so I gave that a 4. One of the better summer attempts I’ve had this year...
