drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 24, 2007 Updated: Jun 15, 200812oz, pours cloudy yellow. nose has bread, cereal, and wet grains. flavor is bready, slightly toasted, with mild citrus. a nice refreshing summer beer. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Jun 23, 2007 6/20/2007: Goose Island Summertime has a hazy (more like cloudy, actually) yellow color. The aroma is bready with some palt malts and cereal. The flavor is light with some toasty/bready malt and citrus hops. There is a hint of bitterness in the finish. The body is medium-light and feels thin on the palate. Good, but not as good as I had expected. Goose Island used to be one of my favorite regional micros, but I really think that their beers have slipped over there years and aren’t nearly as good as they once were. It’s sad, but true an disappointing.
12 oz bottles shared by BeerBob at the Junedale Beer Klub June "Ales of Summer" beer tasting. Thanks BB!
DMRz (218), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 15, 2007 Pale golden color without a head. Very light grass/corn aroma with a touch of malt. The flavor is light yet satisfying, with sweet malty corn, grass, and a touch of hops. A bit more hops would have been nice. Very refreshing and tasted much as expected... bendz1 (86), Ankeny, Iowa, USA Jun 11, 2007 Another good summer beer. Good flavor and goes down smooth. Not the typical hoppy flavor I’m used to with Goose, but still good. tkhans (50), Bangor, Wisconsin, USA Jun 4, 2007 thought I was going to enjoy this after the first swallow but but the time I was finished with it I had a strong urge to brush my teeth, not sure if it was the beer or the paint fumes or something I ate, i’ll have to try again JohnnyOS (646), Golden, Wisconsin, USA Jun 2, 2007 Pours pale yellow with thin head. Light aroma of grass, citrus, very light malts. Flavor is mild and somewhat dry. Could be better. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 29, 2007 Chicago trip. Monday 14:17. On tap at Clybourn. Pale yellow. Thin white head. Hint of grassy hops. Hoppy clean beer. Delicate. A bit chewy in the finish. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA May 27, 2007 (Tap) Pours a yellow color with a pretty tiny white head. Aroma is light. Taste is also relatively mild, and includes light malts and citrus. Dry and refreshing finish. Could stand to have a little more body to it. Maybe it’s the style, but this beer doesn’t seem to be on par with a lot of their other offerings.
