cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA May 21, 2007 Rated 8/5/06: Pours a light gold color with a smooth head and good carbonation, there’s a nice clean sparkle to the appearance. Aroma is real faint and neutral. Crisp and refreshing on the palate coupled with a nice easy flavor. Light malty flavor that is somewhat dry with a tinge of citrus. Real smooth drink here simple and refreshing. ryan (1774), Beltsville, Maryland, USA May 17, 2007 Clear straw body with small white head. The aroma is herbal, grassy hops, slightly metallic and just a touch of esters. The flavor is lightly sweet, some honey, slightly floral and a touch of grass. Light body is softly carbonated and a touch watery. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 14, 2007 Light yellow color. Smell of yeast, copper, metal, light hops and flowers. Taste the same but water down. Its probably good on a hot day. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA May 13, 2007 On tap at clyborn. Uff, needed this beer for the MBA card and I’m not sure if I would have done it on any other circumstance. Yellow golden color with little aroma. Tastes like an easily drinkable light lager with heavy carbonation. Gooses beers are normally really solid and they did this one right on, I guess kolschs are just not my cup of tea. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA May 11, 2007 thanks bwp116. this looks like a yellower miller lite with less carbonation. smells lagerish and a bit metallic. a tiny bit hoppy, as a kolsch should be. taste is pretty poor, but better than BMC and more sessionable. i like the 5% Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 11, 2007 Pours a pale yellow color. Smells of light citrus. Tastes of a mellow citrus or fruit, finishes with a grainy malty taste. A very good, easy-drinking, summer beer. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA May 10, 2007 This one was quite refreshing on this very hot day. A nice mix of light citrus, hops, and malts. Poured a light gold with a nice sized head. Went down real smooth. Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA May 10, 2007 I havent’ had many Kolsch offerings but I agree it’s very clean and refreshing. I thought at first I was drinking a wheat beer. I like the fruity taste but the aroma was a bit skunky. I dont’ know if that was by design or an accident in shipping and handling. Its less than pleasent aroma and slight bitterness at the end was all that kept this from being a top rated beer.
