Commercial Description:
Kolsch, the clean and refreshing beer style of Cologne, Germany, quenches summertime thirst. This pale golden ale with a lightly fruity aroma is cold-conditioned or lagered after its primary fermentation. More simply, our Summertime uses only the finest malts and German hops to create the perfect beer for hot Summer days and warm Summer nights.

A pale yellow pour, decent head. Light on hops, well balanced, with a bit of honey. Very refreshing.

Bottle. Honey malt aroma. Bright golden yellow color with small head. Lightly sweet malt flavor with no bitterness. A very well made Koelsch - one of the best outside of Cologne.

Clear golden, large puffy head, decent lacing. Aroma is grass, bread, a small amount of fruityness. Flavor is the same, very drinkable, excellent mouthfeel. Good for what it is.

(06.15.06) On tap at Goose Island Brewpub, Wrigleyville, IL. Poured hazy golden yellow with small white head. No discernable carbonation. Grassy malt aroma. Light bodied beer that starts with light malt sweetness and corn flavor. Finished with light malt fade. Little to no hop presence. Clean tasting and refreshing, this is a decent drinkable malty beer.

Pours a hazy yellow with a thinnish white head. Looks kind of somewhere between urine and macro yellow. The nose is very subdued. Light light malt with a bit of spicy floral hops. Nothing exciting or offensive. The palate is perhaps the best part of this beer. While the body is thin, the carbonation seems to give this a creamy mouthfilling quality, while still thirst quenching. The flavors are simple and straightforward. A lightly fruity sweet malt and a slightly spicy floral hop. This really does emulate a lager! Overall, I’d say this reminds me of a fresh <!-- insert Norther European lager in green bottle here -->, though perhaps tasting a bit grainier. This could be nice on a hot summer day, sure.

Very yellow. Small white head. Wheat, fruit, some malt in the aroma. Similar fruity flavor, slightly hoppy, grassy, sweet, light and refreshing sort of taste. I can see how this might quench summertime thirst.

12 oz bottle, via kp. Pours a clear yellow gold body under a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin film. Aroma is fruity with light pale malt, somewhat grainy. Flavor is light and refreshing. Lightly fruity up front fading to a slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied with soft but active carbonation, just shy of a creamy texture. Overall, not too bad, but not up there with my favorites of the style.

Golden color with a white head. Has a light malt and hop aroma. Real thin clean mouth feel. Has a clean easy drinking taste with a bitter/spicey hop after taste. Not a good tasting beer but easy to drink a bunch of them.
