ElBorracho (472), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 4, 2006 On tap. Pours a light yellow with a foamy white head. Pretty light, easy drinker all around with some citrus notes and faint hops. Yard work beer all the way. stoutchap (297), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 3, 2006 I found this to smell a little skunky, like I do many Goose Island brews. Clear light amber, with a decent fizzy white head. Very light mouthfeel. MIld flavor, with some characteristic Goose Island hopping at the end. Better cold.
davidoc (113), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 2, 2006 Slightly fruity taste. Light, with a pleasant taste. Perfect for a warm evening after a long day at work. WisconsinBeer (514), St Paul, Minnesota, USA May 31, 2006 Easy on the palate, very light and refreshing. Pale malts and flowery hops. Hints of citrus fruits. Biscuity flavors. Nothing terribly exciting, but the ladies like it. Good summertime refresher. chicagobears (336), Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA May 19, 2006 I had my doubts about this one. Even though it was labeled as Kolsch, I did not think it would be of a high quality. Goose Island continues to pour out quality beers of all kinds of styles. I’m glad I’m able to get some good Kolsch 12 packs now without having to go to Germany. Highly recommended. konair1 (64), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 16, 2006 Bottle. Golden hazy color. Thick white head. Flavor of malts. Good summer beer. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA May 9, 2006 Updated: Jun 12, 2006Re-Rated. Confirmed that that bottle was bad. However, had it on tap at Fat Jacks and it was much better. Pours goldenrod with fizzy white head that is quick to disappear. The aroma is all lemon and spice with some weak hop flavor. A good rep of the kolsch style. the flavor is lemon and tart with a slightly oily mouthfeel, with some good malt and a nice german feel to it. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA May 9, 2006 My first Kölsch. 12oz bottle, best when consumed by 09/25/06. Pours a hazy straw with a moderate white head. Aroma of hay and wheat, some pepper as well. Lemony up front, biscuity finish. Don’t really know what to compare this to, but it is a refreshing summer brew for a hot day.
