Commercial Description:
Kolsch, the clean and refreshing beer style of Cologne, Germany, quenches summertime thirst. This pale golden ale with a lightly fruity aroma is cold-conditioned or lagered after its primary fermentation. More simply, our Summertime uses only the finest malts and German hops to create the perfect beer for hot Summer days and warm Summer nights.

Bottled: Light golden color, small head, little carbonation. Hoppy hay nose. Too bitter for a Kölsch - Light "I’m in Cologne-Kölsch" -taste in the beginning - but than - BAM - Hops a gogo and you are in Chicago!

Pours a golden yellow/amber. Aromas of lemon, grains, celery. Flavor is crisp, dry, sweet malt, and a mild hop.

My first Kolsch. Faint fruity aroma. Nice creamy white head, small. A spicey, faintly hop flavor. Nice acidity. Not much flavor, but very refreshing. Could drink this like Gatorade.

Had this on tap at Crescent Moon in Omaha. Pale gold color with almost no head. Smell is mildly citrus and sweetwith just a light hoppiness. Flavor of malt, hop, lemon and spices. Overall taste was very mild. Was very easy to drink, but not something I’ll seek out again.

Mild pear-like fruitiness with some light herbal hops in the nose. Hazy golden-yellow with decent white head that diminishes to cover. Very lightly fruity yeast characteristics over the soft malty flavour with some citrus-herbal hops and fair finishing bitterness. Light body is very dry with crisp carbonation. Tulip glass, just above fridge temp. Bottle (trade, Aug-05). Thanks, npdempse!

Sampled from bottle. Pours a cloudy, dark yellow with a thin, white head. Aroma is grassy and earthy. Flavor is well-balanced with spicy hops and subtle, fresh fruits (citrus and apple). Light to medium-bodied, moderately carbonated and very refreshing. Great for Summer, as advertised.
