Brad (364), Berkley, Michigan, USA Jun 6, 2005 12 oz. Bottle: Pours a light golden, mostly transparent, with a white head fully diminishing head. Aromas are light and fruity (citrus), some slight hops (pine, bitterish). Flavor was watered down, overly so ruining most of the flavor, still making their way through were the sweet citrus flavors. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 5, 2005 courtesy of Viggo. Good hop aroma. Pours a fluffed up retaining head, with lace remaining in glass.. Smooth easy creamy drink, creamy and well-malted, well-carbonated. Good citrus fruity zesty sweet. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 27, 2005 Updated: Aug 21, 2007Bottle. Light smell of malt with a bit of lemon aroma. Pours a hazy yellow color with quick diminishing head. Nice lacing. Taste of a small amount of malt, light fruit, yeast, and a delicate hop kick that finishes a bit bitter. As good as it gets for a easy drinking summer beer. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA May 23, 2005 Hazy golden with soft effervescence and a fast, white head that retained only as a thin layer. Citrus aroma with clove, grasses and light yeast. Carbonation enhances a spicy hop bite, contributes to a dry finish and causes a slightly gaseous aftermath. Citrus flavor lingers. Picked this up on the way to a barbecue and it was a fine choice.

Dogbrick (2813), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 21, 2005 Thanks to Darkover for the trade. Cloudy light gold color with a dense white head and minimal lacing. Hops and fruit in the nose. Light-bodied with a crisp character. The flavor mirrors the aroma pretty closely. Straightforward with hops, fruit and light malt. The finish is clean and refreshing. A pretty good representation of the style. eve (240), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 18, 2005 Hazy gold with a moderate fluffy head, a little harsh on the palate for a thirst quencher. The citrus oil notes and forward hop bitterness, while crisp and inviting, adds more weight than I expect from a kolsch. Not that it’s like an IPA but it doesn’t have the delicate character of a German kolsch. Nevertheless, on a hot spring afternoon like today this comes across to me as a subtly bracing, Americanized-but-recognizable version of the style. Darkover (1308), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 10, 2005 Yellow color with a big foamy white head. Slight hop and citrus aroma. Flavor is a little sweet, with some citrus and hop bitterness. bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA May 2, 2005 Yellow color with a fizzy fast fading head. Some slightly sour malt and grassy hops in the nose with a little bit of spice. Carbonation was a bit fizzy on the palate. Mild flavors that are a touch grassy and bitter. No real finish. Decent for session drinkin’ or party beer for the summer.
