Cloudy light gold color with a dense white head and minimal lacing. Hops and fruit in the nose. Light-bodied with a crisp character. The flavor mirrors the aroma pretty closely. Straightforward with hops, fruit and light malt. The finish is clean and refreshing. A pretty good representation of the style. eve (240), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 18, 2005 Hazy gold with a moderate fluffy head, a little harsh on the palate for a thirst quencher. The citrus oil notes and forward hop bitterness, while crisp and inviting, adds more weight than I expect from a kolsch. Not that it’s like an IPA but it doesn’t have the delicate character of a German kolsch. Nevertheless, on a hot spring afternoon like today this comes across to me as a subtly bracing, Americanized-but-recognizable version of the style. Darkover (1311), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 2, 2005 Yellow color with a fizzy fast fading head. Some slightly sour malt and grassy hops in the nose with a little bit of spice. Carbonation was a bit fizzy on the palate. Mild flavors that are a touch grassy and bitter. No real finish. Decent for session drinkin’ or party beer for the summer. kwoeltje (1315), Manchester, Missouri, USA
