| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 11, 2004 12 oz bottle. Served cold. Bright white head of foam on top of yellow beer. Aroma is lemon/grassy, flavor is lightly citrus with very light malt and a crisp feel that finishes with a light hoppy bitterness. I’m not familiar with the Kolsch style, but this one reminds me of a very llight pilsener--not very interesting, but pretty good with a summer meal or for quaffing in the dog days of summer. sfontain (506), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 2, 2004 Updated: Sep 3, 2004What the hell is so great about this?? It looks like Bud and smells only slightly fruitier. Flavor is slightly citrus and a bit hoppy through the finish. Feels thin though crisp. It’s absolutely ridiculous that this gets rated this high just because it says "Goose Island", because I guarantee that if Coors marketed this, it wouldn't break the 2.0 mark. I mean, yeah, fine, it's refreshing and all, but take a Miller Lite and squeeze in a few drops of lemon juice, and I bet it's close to this. steview (901), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 31, 2004 duvel tulip glass: the aroma isn’t that welcoming. i swear i’ve always had better bottles of this. maybe my tongue’s acquired better taste? anyway, i’ve finally rated this brew and i also haven’t had this brew in quite awhile. moving along... it pours nearly clear, light straw. the head is thick, tight, white, and a bit soapy while the body is a translucent nebulae. the flavor hasn’t much to make up for the aroma. there’s not much here. i think i’ve had a slightly skunked bottle, i’m not sure! it’s pretty much barn and corny. as it warms my palate is cloyed and the flavor becomes more buttery. i would probably confuse it for a highly respected macro lager in a blind taste test. i need to rerate at the brewery when it’s on draft. hmm. i mean, well... it's not THAT bad. it's just mediocre, and not too good. i rate 3 to 3.9 at a range with its median at good and I rate 2 to 2.9 at a range with its median at drinkable and quite lacking. FYI: 1 to 1.9 averages drinkable yet not shit and anything below 1 is just shit. michael-pollack (2650), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Light hay malt flavors, with slight citrus hop notes and barnyard yeast. Corn flavor as well. Light body and thin texture. Average carbination. Little taste. Citrusy. bender (293), Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2004 A pale golden body with a fluffy, white head. Not much lacing.
Nice malt aroma with a little hop coming through.
Crisp, malty flavors dominate. The slightly spicy hop flavor adds a nice balance.
Light and refreshing beer. Smooth and easy to drink.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2004 Thanks to Drnk_McDermott for this one. Pours light lemon yellow with a medium white head. Aroma of malt, citrus, hops. Tastes malty, with citrus and hops at mid-palate, and a dry citrus finish. Medium to light on the palate. I noticed very slight candi sugar and fruit qualities at the finish. Kinz (2200), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 21, 2004 Pale yellow, little head. Ultra faint lemon aroma. Wheat bread flavor. Slight bitterness on the finish. I like a good kolsch, but there just wasn’t much to this. Rockinout (945), Kent, Ohio, USA
