Commercial Description:
Kolsch, the clean and refreshing beer style of Cologne, Germany, quenches summertime thirst. This pale golden ale with a lightly fruity aroma is cold-conditioned or lagered after its primary fermentation. More simply, our Summertime uses only the finest malts and German hops to create the perfect beer for hot Summer days and warm Summer nights.

7/5/01: Bottle. Light lemon aroma with a touch of hops. Clear lemon yellow body with a large head, which quickly dissipates. Slight lace left. Small, lemon hop flavor. Clean, refreshing finish.

A perfect beer for hot humid summers. Pours a nice clear gold, and small to medium head. Aroma is clean and somewhat fruity. Flavor is a little hops, a little fruit, and a little malt. Very crisp clean taste and finish

Again, a member of our 9 samples at the tour. Not my style, as I prefer the bastardized American ales >:-) Anyway, looks like a summertime beer, smells like a lager with some fruity highlights. Nothing too special, though very easy to drink and thirst-quenching.

Pours a clear golden with a white head. Nice grassy hoppy aroma. Good hop presence along with hints of light lemony/citrus fruity sweetness, grass, grain and malt. Surprisingly dry on the palate for a summer brew. Mouthfeel is a little light and fizzy but the overall taste is full and round. I’m not an expert on this style at all, but it somewhat resembles a pilsner to me.

Light Honey Coloring. Little head. Fruit, hops...but very smooth and little flavor...uneventful beer.

Light yellow color with little head. Very bland aroma and taste. Maybe some hops, malt, and fruit, but nothing would come right out and say "hey, taste me!" Too bland.

Bottle into small plastic tasting cup, Humulus Lupus @ Jak’s Tap (Chicago). I’ve had this bunches, and its a good seasonal beer. Citrusy, dry, lager-ish, with nice bitter GI hops at the end (I find that many GI beers have this same taste). Yellow and clear in the cup, not much of an aroma.
