Commercial Description:
Kolsch, the clean and refreshing beer style of Cologne, Germany, quenches summertime thirst. This pale golden ale with a lightly fruity aroma is cold-conditioned or lagered after its primary fermentation. More simply, our Summertime uses only the finest malts and German hops to create the perfect beer for hot Summer days and warm Summer nights.

Draught at the brewpub, Wrigleyville location
Hazy light blond color, creamy head. The aroma has some cereals and malt. The mouthfeel is weak, with some residual sweetness, but not enough flavor or bitterness. Too simple.

355ml bottle from Utobeer. Pale clear gold, lasting white head. Slight herby lemon aroma. Very much a light lemon curdy aroma. Smooth in mouth. Light and drinkable. Just as a Kolsch should be.. Lemon hop on end is very pleasant. I like it.

Bottled, alc. 4.7% (Beer Hunters’, BB 04/2010). Pale, slightly hazy yellow color, small white head. Aroma is soapy lemony with kind of unfermented sugar, wort note (although it is the most likely from yeast). Light palate, crisp mouthfeel, also a bit oily. Pale malty with light lemony hops. Refreshing, but just too boring and watery for being a good Kölsch. This is a bit like pale lagers of mainstream brewpubs. Could have more hops at least.

Botella. Unclear pale yellow colour, medium fairly well alsting white head. Aroma has some fruitiness with wheat and yeast. Fair mouthfeel. Strange wheat and grainy, mildly fruity, bit herby flavour with a bit of lemon and a mild bitterness.

A Mes rate: bottle at GBBF.
Pale gold with a thin white head. Dull and watery with very little action. Faint fruity notes, some card and metal and hints of butter. Bland as hell, very short in the finish, pretty lifeless all round.

Bottle, bought @ The Rake, London.
Pours lightly hazy yellow-golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma is softly hoppy, light citrc. High carbonation. Subdued crispy malts in the flavour, biscuits, subdued hops. Wonderful balance and even better freshness.
