| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2005 The bottle poured a light gold slightly cloudy beer with a medium fizzy white head that lasted a while but not very long and left little lacing on the glass. The aroma was a delicate combination of sweet fruit, biscuit and subtle hops. The body light with lively carbonation and a slightly dry texture. The flavor begins with a subtle, clean fruitiness. The middle is taken over by the sweet maltiness while the finish is taken over by a mild hop bitterness. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA

However, had it on tap at Fat Jacks and it was much better. Pours goldenrod with fizzy white head that is quick to disappear. The aroma is all lemon and spice with some weak hop flavor. A good rep of the kolsch style. the flavor is lemon and tart with a slightly oily mouthfeel, with some good malt and a nice german feel to it. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Pours a light golden yellow, clear and well carbonated, with an inch or so of sudsy white foam. The head dies down in short order, but provides solid webby lacing throughout the glass. Slight grain and dried grass in the aroma.
Smooth toasted and caramel malt flavor - light bodied. Not crisp and clean like I would expect from a kolsch, but rather smooth and mellow and more like a golden ale. But I am not reviewing to Style Police standards. Well, not too much, anyway. In any event, it is drinkable and enjoyable. Nice hops for balance and a touch of sweetened lemon in the finish. extremeicon (109), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Extremely refreshing. Nice and light with very pleasant carbonation. Sweet malt very nicely balanced with the hops. I actually went through this one so fast that it’s tough to remember much of anything specific. Would definitely be willing to give a proper tasting to later on when I’m not so thirsty. jhliesen (406), West Melbourne, Florida, USA

An exeptionally sweet initial flavour with a sticky honey finish. Very enjoyable, I would love to try it on tap. thewolf (5842), Kolding, Denmark

Pours lightly hazy yellow-golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma is softly hoppy, light citrc. High carbonation. Subdued crispy malts in the flavour, biscuits, subdued hops. Wonderful balance and even better freshness. chicagobears (336), Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA

Even though it was labeled as Kolsch, I did not think it would be of a high quality. Goose Island continues to pour out quality beers of all kinds of styles. I’m glad I’m able to get some good Kolsch 12 packs now without having to go to Germany. Highly recommended.
