COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ten Hills traces its story to Elk Mountain Farms in Idaho, famous for growing hops of exceptional quality and character. With hops from the "first ten hills" grown for Goose Island at Elk Mountain, we crafted a pale ale that delivers both a herbal and citrus hop character. We hope you’ll find the intriguing balance of flavors in this beer to be truly unparalleled. Cheers!

With Audrie at Brass Tap, Coral Springs, pours a rusty copper color with some Amber shades and no head. Nose is bready , malty with a pleasant herbal citrus. Taste is malty, some caramel with an herbal citrus. Finish is biscuity , mildly bitter, and ends on the ’ herbal citrus ’ notes . 🍻 Score 7 / 10

12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. The hops really come through but not much else. Pretty basic all around.

Huge sweet hop aroma, tropical. Copper with off white head. Not overly bitter, lots of malt to balance the hops. Rich malty flavors, medium bodied, soft round mouth feel. Pretty delicious.

Pale ale balancing well close to the India border with a rather heavy pine bitterness that is too perfumed. Flavorful but out of balance.

Taste of caramel, pine, grapefruit, lemon, toasted brown bread, tangerine, grass and mild floral hops. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It pours an amber color with a small white head. It has a fresh hop aroma with some floral aromas. It has a caramel and bread flavor with a mild hop bitterness. This is a very drinkable beer.

On tap at Fat Bob’s in Buffalo, NY. Never heard of this. Light brown pour, little light bubbly head. Dry. Decent malt backbone but some hops in it too. Kinda earthy, hard to define. Not bad.

Bottle poured an amber color with a thin coating of white head. Beer has mild hops, a fair bit of malt for a pale ale, and a lingering finish.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/22/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, apple, light pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, herbal, floral, grass, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, apple, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Good amount of pine and earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, apple, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, balance, and robustness of citrus/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and a light lingering bitter astringency after the finish; but not too bad. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp/sticky, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good pale ale style. All around good robustness, balance, and complexity of citrus/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Good APA, spruce, apricot and bread. Hops and malt pretty equally balanced. Respectable session beer. Sorry to see Goose Island bought out by AB- InBev.
