With hops from the "first ten hills" grown for Goose Island at Elk Mountain, we crafted a pale ale that delivers both a herbal and citrus hop character. We hope you’ll find the intriguing balance of flavors in this beer to be truly unparalleled. Cheers!

The color of this beer is a clear brownish orange with a large off-white head, and the aroma is resin and floral hops with caramel malts. The taste is mildly bitter, slightly sour, and a touch sweet, and the palate fuses a soft carbonation, medium body, slick texture, and a slightly bitter finish.

Clear copper orange color, like honey. Not a ton of head, looks very still, with scant carbonation. The very first sniff is a sweet, caramel-based aroma, almost akin to a Bock. The second scent is a prickly, pollen-y hop. Notes of sharp pine. The hops dominate, would kinda like a little more balance. More bitterish hops in the flavor. The caramel malts wash over it to blunt it a little. The feel starts off as prickly, and then is quickly doused by the rounded malts. This is odd for a hop-head like me to say, but I would love to have a ton more malt in this beer! The duality in this beer is a little too skewed toward the hop side. I find the bready caramel malts of this beer, however, to be simply excellent.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep gold amber color with an eggshell head. Aromas of malty biscuits and bread. No perceptible hop aroma. Taste is straight up toffee, caramel and warm bread. Slightly bitter. Way too malt forward for an APA. Very light on the hops. No.

Mildly hazy with a high amount of carbonation and a soapy head and decent lacing. Aroma of orange peel, floral hop, caramel sweetness and some pale malts. Flavor of floral hops, pale malts, orange peel, lemon zest and a mildly bitter aftertaste. Light body and moderately carbonated. Pretty good.

Tasted on 3/19/14 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Craft Brewed. Pours clear dark amber with a very thick khaki head that slowly recedes to average, sticky lace. The nose is caramel malt forward with some herbal, grassy hops . The flavor is a bit more hop focused with an added citrus component, and the same grassy herbal notes, along with a balanced amount of carmel malt. The body is medium with lively, stinging carbonation, and a medium malty and herbal, grassy hops finish.

This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent dark copper orange colored body and a good lacing. The nice aroma was mild hop. The sharp crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a bitter hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of mild ale mild citrus oak and mild hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
