Ten Hills traces its story to Elk Mountain Farms in Idaho, famous for growing hops of exceptional quality and character. With hops from the "first ten hills" grown for Goose Island at Elk Mountain, we crafted a pale ale that delivers both a herbal and citrus hop character. We hope you’ll find the intriguing balance of flavors in this beer to be truly unparalleled. Cheers!

Bottle pours a clear amber color with a foamy off white top. Nose is caramel and grass. Taste is caramel and herbal. Not a pleasant herbal either.

Rated on 3-19-2014 (Bottle) This beer pours a large foamy ivory head with a long retention, transparent amber body with slow rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, citrus and earthy hops. The taste is semi-sweet, very bitter, caramel malt, citrus, and earthy hops. Even though this beer is an APA, it was very hoppy tasting and geared more towards those beer drinkers who like very hoppy tasting beers.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Grapefruit and light earth aroma. Grapefruit and light pine flavor with light spice. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and light pine lingers with light malt backing.

The color of this beer is a clear brownish orange with a large off-white head, and the aroma is resin and floral hops with caramel malts. The taste is mildly bitter, slightly sour, and a touch sweet, and the palate fuses a soft carbonation, medium body, slick texture, and a slightly bitter finish.

on tap. Amber in color with an average-sized white head. Light citrus aroma. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Moderately sweet. Subtle flavors with a bit of hoppiness in here. Quite drinkable.

Clear copper orange color, like honey. Not a ton of head, looks very still, with scant carbonation. The very first sniff is a sweet, caramel-based aroma, almost akin to a Bock. The second scent is a prickly, pollen-y hop. Notes of sharp pine. The hops dominate, would kinda like a little more balance. More bitterish hops in the flavor. The caramel malts wash over it to blunt it a little. The feel starts off as prickly, and then is quickly doused by the rounded malts. This is odd for a hop-head like me to say, but I would love to have a ton more malt in this beer! The duality in this beer is a little too skewed toward the hop side. I find the bready caramel malts of this beer, however, to be simply excellent.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep gold amber color with an eggshell head. Aromas of malty biscuits and bread. No perceptible hop aroma. Taste is straight up toffee, caramel and warm bread. Slightly bitter. Way too malt forward for an APA. Very light on the hops. No.

Quite nice and bitter also. NOt very pale and a little bit creamy but just enough to still being thin.
