COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s grandiose vision for a mile-high skyscraper dubbed "The Illinois," we set out to brew an imperial IPA that would be similar in name and ambition. "The Illinois" Imperial IPA is dry-hopped with three of our favorite hops: Cascade, Meridian, and Citra. the result is a harmoniously hoppy ale with a flavor and aroma that is uniquely Goose Island.

It's a dipa for the serious beer drinker, it focus more on the deep malt while having a hops wallop. Enjoy this beer, don't waste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft @ WOB, RSW. Hoppy aroma. Rusty orange color. Hoppy flavor, little citrusy. Full bodied. Nice DIPA!

The aroma is more like a smooth, almost bland, Sullivan than knock-your-socks-off Gaudi or sock-you-in-the-eye Gehry that I usually expect from a DIPA. The malt flavor is dominant and quite tasty like Calatrava, and well-structured like another Chicago favorite, Mies van der Rohe. Excellent, an Eiffel, not transcendent, like a Le Corbusier.

Pours a hazy rusty orange color with a nice tan head. Taste is deep sweet citrus. Taste is deep sweet citrus as well with bitter resin and pine notes. Finish is moderately long with a bitter sweet citrus ending and packs some pine and resin at the very end. Descent DIPA.

Bottle. Pours a golden orange with a sweet aroma of hops and citrus. Taste is heavy bitter up front, lots of hops and resin with sweet citrus and fruity notes into the big bitter, dry finish

Cloudy orange color with above average head and lacing. Aroma of resin hops and brown sugar. Flavor has noticeable amounts of orange with a modest amount of hop bitterness in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It’s pretty tasty; however, I would have liked a little more hop aroma. The aroma is somewhat hoppy with a malt underbelly that seems prominent. The taste is similar with a lot of thick rich malt meandering with the citrusy hops. The finish is thick and caramel with a smooth soapy feel that lingers just a bit. Overall, solid.

Pours a deep clear copper with a medium, off-white head. Aroma is bready malt and citrus hops. Flavor is malt with citrus fruit and resinous hops with good balance and a nice bitter finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Good job.

Draft->shaker. Hazy orange with small white head. Citrus hops and sweet malt, but out of balance and messy. A lower-tier GI offering, for me at least.
