COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s grandiose vision for a mile-high skyscraper dubbed "The Illinois," we set out to brew an imperial IPA that would be similar in name and ambition. "The Illinois" Imperial IPA is dry-hopped with three of our favorite hops: Cascade, Meridian, and Citra. the result is a harmoniously hoppy ale with a flavor and aroma that is uniquely Goose Island.

Pours a hazy rusty orange color with a nice tan head. Taste is deep sweet citrus. Taste is deep sweet citrus as well with bitter resin and pine notes. Finish is moderately long with a bitter sweet citrus ending and packs some pine and resin at the very end. Descent DIPA.

Bottle. Pours a golden orange with a sweet aroma of hops and citrus. Taste is heavy bitter up front, lots of hops and resin with sweet citrus and fruity notes into the big bitter, dry finish

It’s pretty tasty; however, I would have liked a little more hop aroma. The aroma is somewhat hoppy with a malt underbelly that seems prominent. The taste is similar with a lot of thick rich malt meandering with the citrusy hops. The finish is thick and caramel with a smooth soapy feel that lingers just a bit. Overall, solid.

Pours a deep clear copper with a medium, off-white head. Aroma is bready malt and citrus hops. Flavor is malt with citrus fruit and resinous hops with good balance and a nice bitter finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Good job.

Draft->shaker. Hazy orange with small white head. Citrus hops and sweet malt, but out of balance and messy. A lower-tier GI offering, for me at least.

Grassy aromas from a slightly murky tangerine/yellow body with a frothy white head. Dry, spicy, biting bitterness with more grass, orange and citrus pith. Excellent sweet sticky caramel malt balance to this bitterness that both tames and highlights it at the same time. The alcohol is noticeable but not overwhelming. Leaves a spicy bitter flavor behind on the tongue along with a little candy sugar. Excellent DIPA!

Bottle pour. Hazy bright orange. White head of foam. Papery and fruity taste. Big body and medium carbonation.

Draft at Uno. Orange, tangerine on the nose. Bitter hop notes throughout - pine/resin, spruce and misc. citrus in the flavor. Bitter finish. The high ABV is hidden well.

Pours hazy orange-amber with a 1-finger bone-colored head. Aromas of grapefruit and biscuit malt, with a mild note of caramel. Full body with a moderate thickness, and a light astringency at the back. Citrus hops flavor with a note of resin. Some biscuit notes as well.
