COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s grandiose vision for a mile-high skyscraper dubbed "The Illinois," we set out to brew an imperial IPA that would be similar in name and ambition. "The Illinois" Imperial IPA is dry-hopped with three of our favorite hops: Cascade, Meridian, and Citra. the result is a harmoniously hoppy ale with a flavor and aroma that is uniquely Goose Island.

Keg @ Sedona. Medium amber pour with a small white head. The nose is hot orange peel citrus, toffee. Pretty aggressive. The taste is similar. Strong malty backbone supporting an intense citrus bitterness. Heavy handed, a bit hot and flabby. Medium body, soft carbonation. No real complexity here. Decent.

Growler from Keyport. Clear orange with a filmy head, mild carbonation and decent lacing. Nose and flavor consist of citrus hops, apricots, caramel malts and a bitter piney resin aftertaste. Body is heavy and moderately carbonated. Pretty good!

on tap at a tap take over at Provisions Market, great coppery amber pour into a snifter, wonderfully hoppy aroma. Taste is a delicious blend of multiple types of hops, a little bitter, a little bit sweet but all together delicious. This beer is just dandy, FLW would be proud to have his magnificent mile high masterpiece realized in this beer

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2014 Medium copper, clear, avg lacing. Full body, well balanced mouthfeel, with alcohol, sweetness, flavor, body and bitterness in proportion to each other, long aftertaste. This beer best quality are its complex and intense hop flavors, which include floral and herby notes. Rich malty background.

On tap at Stanley’s NE, pours a clear amber/orange with a small khaki head. Fruity aroma, floral with citrus, and heavy caramel malt. Taste of fresh citrus, hop spice, resinous, with heavy caramel malt, with a slightly bitter finish. Not bad, not amazing, pretty standard.
