4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A medium-strong hop aroma. Very clear, un-bubbly. This is fairly sweet and sugary with a hop alcohol note that’s more noticeable near the end. Decent but not what I’m feeling at the moment.

Draft. Loads of pine and citrus with a huge caramel malt backbone. Very good, although a bit boozy.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Independent Ale House. Pours golden orangish amber with white head. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, resiny hops, and some caramel. Flavors of grapefruit, pine, caramel malts, little toast, and good dose of bitter hops. Finishes with bitter hop burst ad residual sweetness of the caramel malts. Nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of melon, citrus, malts. Very balanced aroma. Citra is there but not screaming. Appears amber gold with ample white head. Taste is citrus with good thorough bitterness. Balanced. Lightness and melon flavor apparent. Malt presence is barely enough. Very good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Darn fine, hoppy, bittering, DIPA. Complexity from caramel malts and nutty, toast notes. Pine, a whole forest of it, and lots of floral aromas. Leaning more pine/citrus on the palate. VERY long and very tasty. Also, it is this kind of wonderful glowing amber brown in the glass.

Clear, amber-copper with an off-white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of pine, lemon, caramel and light fruit.
Taste of intense caramel, pine and citrus--all nicely in balance--with some floral hops at the finish.
Medium body and medium carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at 7th West. Pour is a murky orange, tons of citrus hops on the nose and tongue. Creamy, sticky mouth feel. Not bitter, slightly sweet. Nice beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep amber with a thin white head. The nose has a lot of bright berry and citrus with a touch of iced tea and some soft caramel as well. Bright and fruity with some lingering yeasty esters on the back. Sort of barleywineish with some lingering sweetness. A really nice brew.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft from Craft and Capone’s. Pours hazy dark straw toward copper wth clingy off-white head. Nose is huge tropical fruit, with notes of mango, tangerine, grapefruit, heavy black pepper, huge balanced caramel malt bill, and a smooth, delicious finish. This beer kicks major ass, and I dare say in a blind taste test would stand up to and even kick the ass of many of the world’s elite IPAs/IIPAs. I look at Chicago as a slightly better version of Detroit, and I look at Illinois as a superior IIPA. Get ya some now, or be labeled a moron, you moron! And if you cannot get this due to regional considerations, then I will gladly rescind the moron label, punk!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Somewhere between amber and gold in color with a thin white head. Aroma is floral with a touch of pine. Flavor is bright pine hops that finishes a bit sweet. It could have a little more malt to balance it out, aftertaste is a touch astringent. Still pretty tasty though.
