COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s grandiose vision for a mile-high skyscraper dubbed "The Illinois," we set out to brew an imperial IPA that would be similar in name and ambition. "The Illinois" Imperial IPA is dry-hopped with three of our favorite hops: Cascade, Meridian, and Citra. the result is a harmoniously hoppy ale with a flavor and aroma that is uniquely Goose Island.

Bottle to glass. Pours a copperish light amber color with a light tan head. Pleasant aroma with citrus, fleshy fruits, and a touch of caramel sweetness. Flavor is a bit more astringent, with a moderate bitter and hints of ctirus and caramel. Medium body, somewhat oily, with a lingering bitterness in the finish. One of Goose Island’s better IPAs, but doesn’t get anywhere near the bourbon county series.

12 oz. bottles poured to snifters, displaying a bright & clear, orangey gold color, with frothy, off white head foam, and spots & streaks of lacing. The aroma was a mellow presentation of some dank grain, sweet bread, with citrus & resin. The taste offered some sweetness, a combination of citrus, pit, and tropical fruit, dank, rindy, & citrusy bitterness, and noticeable, DIPA booziness. Medium bodied, with average fizz, and flavor propulsion to the carbonation. A decent DIPA.

Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice big hops forward flavor and aroma. This was a very tasty Double IPA. Very good Goose Island.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of floral and lightly citrusy hops, some pale and caramel malts, and some dough. Flavor the same with a lot of malts and a good amount of hops. Average to smooth texture. A decent beer, but not the best of its style.

This one is the gas. Tastes like rubbing alcohol with some hopps. Has a slight hint of citrus. Smells like alcohol. Had at home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A nice Imperial IPA. Amber color. Aroma of citrus, alcohol and some malt. Taste is citrus, grapefruit, pine hops and sweet-ish malt. I’m usually not much of a Goose Island fan, but I’ve enjoyed this one enough to get another 4 pack. The Frank Lloyd Wright artwork is what caught my eye at the store - FLW and beer....a great combo!

Really excited about this one, being from Chicago. Beautiful color, moderate lacing. Aroma is fantastic. Fruity and resiny. Taste is a balanced, hop powered yet fruity wave of deliciousness. Four pack for $9.99. Great value for a great beer. Try if you can. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, some slight earth, nice orange, mango, slight pineapple in there into a bit of booze, lemon. Taste is a mix of lemon, grass, pineapple, orange, and mango into a bit of caramel, toffee, finishing fairly bitter, slightly boozy, slightly tropical fruity.

Pours a deep golden almost copper color with a finger of sticky eggshell foam. The nose is interesting, bready malts, citrus, pine, musky melon. The palate follows with nice layers of dank earthy fruit, pine, citrus and a round clean malt backbone. Pretty nice drinker for 9% !
