3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a vibrant orange-caramel color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet grapefruit and lemon. The flavor was tangy, sweet, yet bitter with notes of lemon, grapefruit, a bit of resin, light caramel, and a bready undertone. Long sweet grapefruit and resin finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a thick off-white head. Aroma of malt and piney hop. Sweet malt flavor with pine accents before a bitter grapefruit finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled on 10FEB14. Nose is tropical, slightly rindy fruit, citrus over light, caramel-leaning malt and some dough (not much booze). Pours clear, bright orange with pink accents here and there, supports a short beige head. Taste is strongly bitter but balanced by sugary slashes and some booze; stronger floral and grapefruit hoppiness, lightly tropical, some resin and even roast nearing the caramel. Full body warms but slowly, resin makes ’er fairly chewy, and there’s a bit of pleasant oiliness. Clean with sticky lips. Let this one warm a bit, but a good one for hop lovers.

Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice big hops forward flavor and aroma. This was a very tasty Double IPA. Very good Goose Island.

4.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This draft brew from a restaurant poured a head of finely sized white colored bubbles that were fully diminished and left behind a typically carbonated transparent dark orange colored body. The mild aroma was hoppy. The hot sharp mildly vinous crisp mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong hoppy aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of bitter mild citrus crisp and hops. A wonderful best in class brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice crisp light copper body, perfect 2 centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of hops, malt, alcohol and more resinous hops. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour with a good malt backbone, some pungent sweetness and a biting hop note. Aftertaste is very well rounded with a great maltiness, some light sugars, a lot of alcohol and a bunch of residual resin, grapefruit and piney hop notes. Overall, a very nice strong imperial IPA with a complex and somehow smooth finish! Great to try at the pub here in Whole Foods. I sampled this pint on draught at Whole Foods in New York, New York (Columbus Circle) for US$9 (way too much, but i’m paying for real estate).

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Snifter at Eddies. Filtered copper-orange color, nice amber hues. Big, steady off-white head. Nice, cool, crisp hop tones. Really solid IIPA. Rindy, grapefruit, very resinous yet cool and crisp too. Toasty malt background, some caramel, richer malt tones than, say, FFF. Resinous finish, dry, sweet, nice balance.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2014 A medium-strong hop aroma. Very clear, un-bubbly. This is fairly sweet and sugary with a hop alcohol note that’s more noticeable near the end. Decent but not what I’m feeling at the moment.
Had again and had to raise this up. Truly fantastic.
