COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s grandiose vision for a mile-high skyscraper dubbed "The Illinois," we set out to brew an imperial IPA that would be similar in name and ambition. "The Illinois" Imperial IPA is dry-hopped with three of our favorite hops: Cascade, Meridian, and Citra. the result is a harmoniously hoppy ale with a flavor and aroma that is uniquely Goose Island.

My rating is pretty on point for this gem. And yes, it’s damn good. Hitting a max of 9% , this brew is incredibly smooth. Nice Mellon, citrus scent along with a mouthful of candy resin orange peel. A must have , if you’re going for a strong IPA. Cheers!

on tap at a tap take over at Provisions Market, great coppery amber pour into a snifter, wonderfully hoppy aroma. Taste is a delicious blend of multiple types of hops, a little bitter, a little bit sweet but all together delicious. This beer is just dandy, FLW would be proud to have his magnificent mile high masterpiece realized in this beer

A full bodied beer, copper pour, thin head, easy on the palate despite the 9% ABV, a great double IPA.

Tap pour - @ RHP. Pours gold-orange with nice, big, tight tan head. Pine, citrus, orange, and creamy vanilla notes on the nose. Incredible pop of hops, nice and bitter, oranges all over my palate like a sickness. Slightly dry finish, medium-full bodied. Yes!

Citrusy and piney hop aromas, and some caramel. Clear darn orange with a mostly lasting white head. Slightly sweet and very balanced. Medium bodied, very smooth, and with a slightly lingering, bitter finish.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2014 Rich golden orange in the glass (slightly hazy). Smells like caramel biscuit. Thick and caramelly with grassy overtones and just the slightest touch of dark fruit. A surprising amount of carbonation. Further sipping reveals hints of pineapple and increasing bitterness. Very good.
