Bottle from East Derry General Store. Aroma is citrus, bready yeast, hint of banana. Appearance is mostly clear (light sediment) golden yellow with nice sparkle, minimal white head and nice foamy lacing. Taste is mostly moderately sweet, like aroma with citrusy banana and a little bitterness. Palate is medium bodied, creamy texture with lively carbonation with a little bite to it on the tongue with dry balanced sweet/bitter finish.

My Bottom Line:
Citrus, lime, banana and pine needles put together a beautifully aromatic New World Tripel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam decorates the shiny pale yellow.
-The Citra doesn’t veer into cat litter realms, which I appreciate.
-Though bright, the fruitiness never gets blinding.
-Mouthfeel is relatively dry and fluffy.
-Bottle condition this at higher volumes of CO2 and I would consider using the word ’genius’.

On tap at the brewery.

scotchzombie (401) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - APR 12, 2015
Pours a hazed gold with a small white head that settles into a nice solid rim and coating. Aroma is yeasty bread, bananas and spices. Taste is similar but with banana dialed back, some lemony citrus and a nice balance of bitterness. Alcohol is pretty well-disguised but it's warming. Just decent.

Average beer. Probably won't get again. Look for other beers in this style.

Bottle. Pours a fairly hazy dark golden color with a moderate off white head on there. Nose has has some banana, yeast, and hints of caramel at the end. Taste is pretty sweet and a bit doughy. Ok, but nothing special.

pale yellow. almost no head. Aroma has green tea, pine and some table sugar. Sweet taste, crisp lemon, bread yeast, more tea at the finish. but not a bad beer.

Pours a nice golden yellow, solid head. Nose is banana, alcohol. Taste is boozy, yeast, bitter orange peel, coriander, pretty dry. Decent, but combination of sweet alcohol and spicy bitterness doesn’t quite work. Much better tripels out there IMHO.

Pours a three finger white head that stays forever leaving a good lace. Crystal clear pale straw color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Fruity Belgian yeast nose and flavor is citrus, sweet Belgian yeast and hints of spices. High ABV is hidden. $4.35 for a 12oz bottle from Bert’s Better Beers Hooksett, NH

Smells acceptable and pours like a really good beldgy. No doubt after the first swig this is in yer face alky thing happening. Yes, tries to be as civilized as the real old country but fails to get there. Another triple domestic wannah bee - yah. Chalk this up as a strong ale baby. Not impressed; but numbed. Yes a typical Belgian yeast thing brewed in the good ol’ USA. Big happy in yer face deal, wew. Yea, there is some co2 but its drowned in the personality.
