This limited release Belgian style Tripel is dry hopped to balance spicy, tropical American hop flavors with a unique Belgian yeast, giving it a bold more complex palate.

Super, super mandarin orange. As it warms, the hop bitter shows up, and rounds this Tripel nicely. On that note, it finishes like a Tripel, but the rest of it is a bit thin for the style.

Hazy golden pour into Goose Island Matilda tulip glass. Spicy aroma with some green apple and pear. Flavor is nicley spiced with a pineapple and mango flavor. The yeast lingers on the palate. I like that it is not too sweet and the dry hops add a pleasant spice note. This is the second time buying this. Hopefully they will brew this again next year.

Bottle from Whole Foods in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is light floral, white peaches and grapes, mild hay. Taste is sparkling peach, spicy yeasts, rye. Very mild version of the style but I enjoyed plucking out some of the flavors.

On tap at Harry’s Hofbrau. Hazy golden with full white head. Spice and bright tropical flavors marry well with a great dry fjnish from the spicy yeast.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 10-15-14. “Bottled on: 10APR2014” and says brewery fresh for 180 days after bottling date, so I’m about a week late in consuming this beer. Quite pleasant, floral, tart aroma features scents of orange, lemon, grapefruit, and salt. Pours a yellow gold with moderate effervescence. Some small specks of suspended particulate in the liquid. Moderate amount of light taupe head. Produces good lacing. Citric taste largely matches the aroma. Pungent, dry finish. Sweet citrus flavor, especially grapefruit. Too citric and too sweet; unbalanced. Medium to full body. Lively and silky in the palate. Good palate effects. Overall, Goose Island The Ogden looks good, smells good, feels good, and tastes mediocre.

Bottle. Hazy light golden body. Frothy, white head. Aroma of basement mustiness, toasted grain, herbs, alcohol, pepper. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture turning syrupy, lively carbonation. Lots of alcohol in the finish. Average.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of grape, peach, pear, some nice vanilla, hints of biscuit, honey, some nice peppery notes as well. Taste was a mix of white grape, pear, peach, some nice white peppery notes into some spice, grass, some biscuit, honey in there, finishing sweet, slightly spicy. Pretty nice version of the style.
