Stopped in for a quick one after the Wizards game. Nice Dark & Smooth Malty Winter Ale. Very drinkable, full bodied with very little carbonation. Sweet with touch of chocolate, hides the 8% well, easy to mass consume.

Sampled at the very fine DC location. Fun old Washington atmosphere inside here, high ceilings, pillars, random scruffy western man in a cowboy hat walking in, smoking a cigarette, ordering a shot of tequila and a hefe, smiling that gentlemanly western way. Okay the beer. Smooth tasting (I know some hate that descriptor.), jumpy tasty for a porter. Lovely.

Tap in DC. A very dark brown pour with a little bit of white laced head. Very sweet and pungent aroma. Smooth sweet taste of malt.

RFD Strong Ale Tasting. Zero head. Muddy brown. Lite coffee aroma. Heavy dark bitter with a touch of chocolate. One of the better GB beers i’ve had

Cloa body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, some lager yeast, cherry, light peach, smoke. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, some roast. Smooth medium body that hides the alcohol well.
