eaglefan538 (2079), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 11, 2008 On draft at the PHX airport Desert Springs "Brewery." Pour was golden with carbonation, decent initial head, weak retention, ok lacing, though. The aroma was sweet honey and grass. The flavor was sweet honey, sticky pilsner malts, only a touch of hops in the finish. Not crisp or clean, a sloppy stronger pilsner, imo. An ok airport brew, though.
j_b (756), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 11, 2008 Was surprised to read what the color would look like and was surprised to see it. But he head was white and compact and the lacing was very good and the beer was a bit hazy and orange. Didn’t note a lot of typical bock aromas, did note much doughiness and yeastiness. Enjoyable palate, sweet and satisfying. rayOfBeer (265), El Cerrito, California, USA Oct 2, 2008 Poured from tap at brewery a golden with medium sized white head. Aroma was hard to gather with just a note of sweet malt. The flavor come in with a bit of light fruitiness much like a Belgian pale, coupled with honey and malt sweetness and finishing with a very slight tartness. Malty full palate but nothing more. Overall, not a whole lot of flavor but nothing bad either. SamGamgee (593), Santa Cruz, California, USA Sep 27, 2008 12oz bottle. Deep gold with a lasting head. Smokey and grassy aroma caught me a little off guard. Very similar to the Nils Oscar pils. The flavor has a lot of sweet pale malts, that aren’t quite balanced by the subtle noble hops. Almost cloying by the end. Not too bad, but not something I would choose in the future. alexanderj (1349), San Diego, California, USA Sep 27, 2008 On tap; color was dark gold with a white head. Aroma of wheat, banana, bread, yeast and spice. Not much sweetness. Flavor was of wheat, fruit, bread and yeast. A little bit of straw like flavor. The beer was solid, but nothing too exciting. MIBRomeo (1889), Wisconsin, USA Sep 16, 2008 not really worth a rating. tried this as a beer whore and didn’t really enjoy anything there.
