Oakes (12552) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 11, 2008
Dark gold-amber colour. Footy nose with light diacetyl and rotting citrus...that ain’t right. Light, bland but for the diacetyl-foot signature. Kind of watery. A real clunker.

Beershine (5218) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - MAY 12, 2008
Draught, Miami location. Clear amber. Small white head. Slight bit of lace scattered about unevenly. Diacetyl and sourness. Vanilla and some odd smoke, just as with the hefe had side-by-side. Flaws or unclean taps suspected...Prickly mouthfeel. Slight hop in the finish. Autolyzed yeast dominates. Tough to get through.

Sparky (2243) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAY 10, 2008
A tap at N Scottsdale location. Pours a medium gold with 2 finger snow white head. Decent lacing. Nose is grass, grain and malt. Palate is more malt with some hop in the finish. Not great, but drinkable.

Nate (3727) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 6, 2008
Draught sample from New Orleans location. Clean nose, not much aroma other than light hop note. Golden clear with foamy/creamy lacing head. Medium-light body, smooth, with medium-heavy fizz. Starts with spicy malt roundness with good acidic gaseousness. Beany. Light peppery-sweet finish with dry bitter after. Good but not as grassy and soft as some others I’ve tried.

heemer77 (5100) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAR 24, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2009 On tap at GB KC. The body was dark gold with a white head. The aroma was Saaz hops with some spice. A little bit of nice fresh bread. The taste was spciy with some bread crust. Nice clean finish. Overall, I would say that this was bright and clean. Nicely made, but still fairly boring.

LooseCannon (938) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - MAR 6, 2008
Draft at Virginia Beach. Pours clear yellow with full foamy white head. Aroma of malt and light floral hops. Taste sweet, malt and hops with bitter finish.

GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAR 2, 2008
Draft at the brewpub (Phoenix location). Poured a clear golden color. Head was white and two fingers high. A bit of lace was left behind at the end. The aroma and flavor were of cereal grain and light grassy hops. The hop flavor was very subdued, unfortunately, without much of that distinct Saaz flavor I was hoping for. Overall this was a pretty unobtrusive beer with easy drinkability, but not much personality.

Drjohnrock (431) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 10, 2007
Draft sampler at Columbus brewpub. Clear amber color, thin body, decent hoppy flavor--certainly better than the Golden Export that I also sampled.

ghawener (1458) - San Salvador, EL SALVADOR - DEC 4, 2007
[Miami, FL] Draft: A bit too sweet and soft for a Czech Lager, lacks that bitterness and hoppy punch. Honey and brown sugar aroma. Drinkable.

Kinz (3286) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - NOV 12, 2007
VA Beach location. Touch more of yellow in the body than their Export. Pils malts, touch of honey flavor to the malt, faint bitterness on the finish, not very defined. I prefer hoppier than this in my pils.
