3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at the DC location during the RBSG DC Pub Crawl.Amber body with a small white head. Nose is hoppy and grassy. taste is grassy, hoppy, crisp and slightly buttery like a buttered biscuit. There;s some light lemony notes as well. Body is medium with a moderate carbonation feel and has a crisp end to it. Finishes with more grassy notes, lemony hints, buttered biscuit and Euro hops. Not anywhere near as bad as the ratings indicate.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Crisp and clean, with some hop spiciness, and a husky malt profile. Not the best example of this style. another dirty dish water offering.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Piscator claims that this was fermented at too high a temperature, and who am I too question this? Probably wouldn’t order any of the biersch offerings after trying the sampler platter in Las Vegas.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Las Vegas location. Dark gold in colour with strong carbonation. Chlorophyll, herbal hops, and a touch of honey sweetness on the nose. More honey and herbs in the mouth, with a bit of a grainy malt element coming into play. Moderate bitterness, but the finish definitely lacks some of the snap that you’d expect from this style. Perhaps this was another one that was fermented a bit too hot? The lack of the grassy Saaz character is a bit disappointing too.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Faint, lagerish aroma. Slightly hazy body with a little lace at the top of the glass. Not much head or lace. Stone smoked flavor. Unique. Not bad although a little thin. Decent; the smoked flavor is fun and unique.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pumphouse Firefighters Fest, March 2006. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs), with a light note of honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, somewhat yeasty. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. A passable rendition, certainly drinkable, just not trying too hard. More like a light helles than a full-on Czech pils.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap in DC. Pale straw color. Not very clear. A very dry taste. The finish is very light and fades rather quickly.
