1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured golden with a trim white head from the tap in Tempe. Overloaded with the bitterness of hops along with notes of pepper. Nothing I would recommend, as I couldn’t even finish my sample.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours clear golden with lots of white head. Noble hops are the show here. I enjoy them. Lots of hop flavor and bitterness. Medium body and dry. High carbonation. Not great, but drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2012 I sampled some of this beer on tap at the brewpub in DC, and then had it again in the BWI airport in a tall pint glass. It had a grainy hops aroma with touches of earthy and grassy hops, along with floral and citrus hops notes and a bit of caramel malt. The beer had a clear and rich golden straw color with a moderate, foamy white head with very good retention, and average cling and lacing. The flavor was mostly, but not heavily, a crisp bitter grainyness with touches of floral character, and some light sour citrus and subtle notes of sweet malt. The beer was initially wet with a light mouthfeel, but became a bit dry, and although slightly watery in texture, it had a high and lively level of carbonation.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a very yellow golden color. Head is a thin white. Aroma is german hops and carbonated water with wheat. Taste is same, a very dry beer but too watery for me. Aftertaste is cotton balls and bandaids. Probably my least favorite beer here (though none are above average).

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Enjoyed on tap at the Washington, DC location. Saaz hop bitterness, not quite, near metallic. Medium yellow, a caesar crown of white and lace. Medium mouthfeel. Off bitterness that makes it not all that drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 17, 2014 First time I had this at the now-defunct Miami location, it was positively awful. I re-rated it in Honolulu. Slight haze, light gold, highly effervescent. Has a moderate hop nose and bitterness, with well-balanced pale malt base. Touch of yeast in the finish. Good. Just shows how far behind GB’s standards that Miami branch really was.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draught, Miami location. Clear amber. Small white head. Slight bit of lace scattered about unevenly. Diacetyl and sourness. Vanilla and some odd smoke, just as with the hefe had side-by-side. Flaws or unclean taps suspected...Prickly mouthfeel. Slight hop in the finish. Autolyzed yeast dominates. Tough to get through.
