Faint, lagerish aroma. Slightly hazy body with a little lace at the top of the glass. Not much head or lace. Stone smoked flavor. Unique. Not bad although a little thin. Decent; the smoked flavor is fun and unique.

Ernest (6157) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 18, 2006
Pumphouse Firefighters Fest, March 2006. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs), with a light note of honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, somewhat yeasty. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. A passable rendition, certainly drinkable, just not trying too hard. More like a light helles than a full-on Czech pils.

BeerandBlues2 (9454) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - MAR 5, 2006
Draught at 4th Annual Wildland Firefighters Benefit & Festival at the Pumphouse in Longmont CO. Pours light gold with a frothy-foamy white head. Aroma is malt (grain, corn, potato) and fruity yeast (sweat). Moderately bitter, low sweetness and an acidity that is drying, light malt and yeast flavors. Light bodied and fizzy, dry palate.

The aroma, appearance, flavor, and palate were all about average. Not much about this beer stands out except the grassy hops.OK beer.

Tap in DC. Pale straw color. Not very clear. A very dry taste. The finish is very light and fades rather quickly.

Draft in Columbus, OH. Clear light brown color with an average creamy white head that lasted. Moderate hoppy herbs aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Well balanced bitter sweet flavor with a smooth bitter finish. Good drinkable brew.

scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 15, 2006
Draft - Tyson’s Corner, VA - Perfect clear sparkling gold, lasting creamy white head. Deep spicy sazz hop nose with touches of grass, earth, florals, and hints of nut bread. Tasted just about the same with a very pronounced spicy hop tone throughout. Light to medium bodied, light carbonation, hoppy finish. A great beer to pair with GB’s garlic fries. Tasty and quite drinkable....

Tap at the Washington DC restaurant. Amber coloured with a thick white head. I’ve have honestly never come across such a seriously mis-named beer. This is a very nice, very hoppy smelling and tasting beer. With a full bodied , smooth mouthfeel. It tastes nothing like a lager, never mind a Czech one? Judging by the other reviews this version is not much like those available in other of their outlets. It is however excellent.

Colorado location. Hazy, whiffs of flavor. Nice, nice! Especially good for a lager.
