Draft at the Virginia Beach locale: Deep golden. Nice full consistency. Excellent "saazy" character with a full-bodied and exceptionally well-balanced build. Very, very goood pilsner.

This beer had quite a bitter after taste for me...But I am kind of new to this, so I will try it again...

On tap in DC. This was a very refreshing beer. Stiff white head over a golden beer with a light herbal/citrus nose. Clean, crisp lager with lemon and orange citrus and a subtle grass bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable.

[At the DC location] A light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with a hoppy note - though not very Saaz like. The flavor is sweet malty with a hoppy note - again my guess is that it is not Saaz. The end is dry.

Draft @ Gordon Biersch downtown DC next to the Spy Museum Clear yellow, white head, small lacing. Nose is grassy, light pale malt, nice and robust for a GB lager. The flavor is tangy, eh, could use more character. Finishes hoppy, bitter, citrusy. Enjoyed this one with Jens. Skal!

On tap at Columbus Microbrew Fest - Pours golden and fairly clear with a nice tall white foamy head that stays well and laces the glass slightly. Aromas of honey and light grains. Flavor includes honey, grains, and saaz hops. Good carbonation and a crisp and clean palate. This one was pretty drinkable and not bad at all..

Clear amber, light floral aroma of honeysuckle. Very light watery flavor of roasted malt.

luckygirl (1223) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 13, 2006
Sampled at the Broomfield, CO location. Beer was clear, oxidized-looking gold with a small, white, frothy, mostly and quickly diminishing head. The aroma was malty with moderate notes of toasted grain; Hoppy with a light note of herb, trace note of chamomile; Yeasty with a trace note of cellar; Miscellaneous trace note of honey. The flavor was lightly sweet, lightly-to-moderately bitter with a short—almost nonexistent—finish. The body was light, the texture was watery and the carbonation was lively.

Sampled at Gordon Biersch during RBSG 2006. Pours a darker shade of clear golden with a frothy white head. Grainy aroma with grassy noble hops. Very clean tasting with a pleasant mix of grain, grass, herbs and lemon. Medium bodied with a very smooth texture and lively, proper carbonation. Very, very drinkable and ridiculously satisfying. Although everyone is entitled to their opinions, I have an issue with the gross low ratings on this beer. This is not an easy style to make. As I was discussing with Jsquire, if this was made by some small, tucked-away brewery in Anytown, USA, people would be raving about its subtle complexity and masterfully clean lager flavor in this imperial stout-dominated world. Just because it’s a chain, doesn’t mean it’s shit. I’m not saying your opinions are wrong but try this again with an open mind. I would like to see you attempt brewing this beer without fucking it up royally.

Draft at the DC location during the RBSG DC Pub Crawl.Amber body with a small white head. Nose is hoppy and grassy. taste is grassy, hoppy, crisp and slightly buttery like a buttered biscuit. There;s some light lemony notes as well. Body is medium with a moderate carbonation feel and has a crisp end to it. Finishes with more grassy notes, lemony hints, buttered biscuit and Euro hops. Not anywhere near as bad as the ratings indicate.
