A very respectable pilsner. Not as good as their Blonde Bock or Maibock, but most sampler packs have at least one dog, but the GB sampler does not. So if this and the Marzen are the weakest in their sampler, then their sampler is one of the great bargains around.

On tap at Gordon Biersch Dulles. Gold body with medium head. Nose is yeasty. Taste is pilseneresque, crisp texture. Corny and watery.

At the restaurant in Miami. Smell is much sweeter than I expected, with cloying funky sweetness on top of light malts. Flavor follows the aroma, with overly sweet flavor, almost like artificial sweetener in it. Drinkable and light, but the sweetness makes it difficult to get it all down. Would not order again, but not a terrible beer.

On tap at Washington - Dulles International Airport. Golden body with an average white foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with bready and herbal hints. Taste carries grainy and herbal notes. Ends with a decent bitter/herbal finish. Not bad.

Draft at the Washington, DC brewpub This was a fun stop on the way to the Ford theater. The waiter was a beer lover and understood I was looking for hoppy beers. This was his recommendation. The pilsner poured a deep gold color with a 1 inch head and lacing on a 21 oz glass. They make their beers based on the German Purity laws of 1518. This pils had litte aroma but had some bitterness in the upper mouth (IBU36). This beer had medium bitterness. The carbonation was average The finish had some spicy characteristics. Not a bd drink!

Pours golden with a thin wispy head. Notes of pils malt, alcohol, crackery, bready malt. Thin to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Tap, pours golden, aroma is mild and the flavour is a nice hoppy bitter beer, a nice drinkability and overall pretty good

Pours a golden yellow with a frothy white head. Smells very funky - corn, urine, malt. Tastes of metallic essence, corn, and malt with some spiciness. This one is quite bitter and dry. Not a fan of this one.

Bottle via sloth in trade. Pours a lightly hazy pale yellow. A fluffy bright white head sits upon it. Moderate carbonation. Faint nose of grass. Body on the whole is medium and has a long tone of bitter riding high thru it. As I enjoyed this brew I reiterated to my suffering wife how Bohemian Pilseners are quite diverse in scope. This one centered on grassy bitterness. Some earthy grain comes out near finish. I did like the label depicting the far side of Charles Bridge from up river in Prague. As an aside, if you ever find yourself viewing this area in real life from this angle, you will be very close to the world’s largest functional metronome. Just sayin.
