3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught, 5.6% at the brewpub. Not much aroma. The flavour starts off with a bready maltiness, medium bitterness. Some paper in the finish. Very subtle aroma hop flavour. Not the best example of the Czech pilsener style, but not a bad beer.

This beer was just a step above any largely produced beer such as bud or coors, watery and not very flavorful.

I think the American GB beers must be weaker as I dont agree with any of the below and I am big into Czech beer. To be its a big strong lager. Fresh and bitter. In fact it is more bitter than anything at GB or indeed most Czech beers I have had. It has a hoppy citrus bite and a quick but palatable finish. I always drink this in GB Taiwan.

All of their beers were pretty light, this was the lightest. Pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of grass. Pretty bland.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 Poured from a keg into a pilsner glass at Gordon Biersch in San Diego. About an inch of head. Plenty of lacing. Some film on the sides of the glass that stayed throughout. Color was honey.
Smelled malty, mainly grass and grains.
Initial taste was malts with heavy carbonation. Kind of a bland kick with a slight alcohol bite.
Medium body with lively carbonation. Still the bland kick.
Not the bad of a beer overall, at least compared to what else Gordon Biersch has to offer. Let’s face it, you’re going there for the food anyway.

Very clear golden pour with one-finger head and a sweet, almost floral nose. Easy entry with a mildy-carbonated mouthfeel that finishes with honey notes.
