3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml. swing top from Safeway. It pours a deep reddish brown color, a bit hazy with a tall light tan head. The aroma is full with sweet cherries and red fruit. Light notes of raisin bread and malt. The flavor is a bit disappointing with some metal, light molasses and raisin bread. There’s some cherry cola sweetness as well that lacks depth. It ends on a dry, toasted note. The mouthfeel is pretty thin and fizzy. Could have used a richer mouthfeel and more flavor development.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml bottle with a swingtop. Pours a slightly hazy roan brown color with a bif foamy beige head that has good retention. The aroma is soft with sweetened malts and grains. The taste is more sweetened grains, nuts and some cola notes. The palate is a bit lighter than I prefer and the carbonation is lively. Finished medium in duration and dry. Overall: Decent dunkel

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Safeway in Los Altos, CA. Aroma is malted cola, roasted malts. Taste is a creamy cola which has been watered down by melted ice. Not incredibly complex but definitely one of the better GB beers I’ve had.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A decent beer, nothing too special, but smooth and tasty. Pours a beautiful ruby red with a thick white head. Smells malty, maybe a bit of marzipan. Taste is creamy, sort of empty upfront, with some coffee and toffee coming in, and a lingering sweetness on the tongue. Had in the bottle.

2.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a very light brown/dark copper color with an amazingly huge billowy off white head. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading to leave a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – A big caramel and brown sugar aroma are the bulk of the smell. These are mixed with some nice roasted malt and toasted aromas as well as a little bit of a nutty smell. Rounding out all these is a very light earthy and herbal hop as well, creating a very pleasant aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet brown sugar and caramel flavor with a little bit of a toasted malt and a light grainy taste. The grain and malt are very light, largely being dominated by the sweeter flavors of the brew, which intensify even more after the initial taste with some other sweet flavors of a cola and molasses nature coming to the tongue. A little bit of a nut flavor develops right after the initial taste, with it then fading away toward the end due to the advent of the cola and molasses. Just a hint of herb is mixed into the taste leaving one with a very sweet, lightly roasted, and thin flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite thin with a carbonation level that is high. A thicker body would have certainly been better for accentuating the roasted and nut flavors of the brew and would have made it a bit less cloying.
Overall – A little too sweet in darker sugar flavors with not quite enough malt and roast to really support the sweet. A bit sweetly unbalanced.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 Swingtop from Bine and Vine. Pours cola color with a beige head - though with lots of light behind it, it’s dark ruddy copper. Warm dark malt aroma. Med body, maybe. Flavor is lightly chocolate, a little darkly malty. Maybe a bit yeasty in the finish. Not much bitter in it. Enough flavor to make it an interesting beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark amber, almost cola colored. Nose is straw-like, typical lager aroma. Taste is sweet and quite cola-like. Thin bodied. Soft, but lively carbonation. Decent brew. Not remarkable. Not bad at all. Standard dark lager.
