Commercial Description:
is a full-bodied, malty beer. It is our only lager beer served unfiltered, the way all beer was traditionally made years ago. Despite its dark color and rich caramel aroma, Dunkles is light in texture and smooth to drink.

Draft sampler at Columbus brewpub. Sweet malty aroma, "light in texture"--no shit, thin malty flavor with some hop tang at the end.

Draft, consumed at Gordon Biersch Pasadena on 12/03/07. Slightly cloudy dark amber. Some bubbles still rising to form a thin skin of foam. Caramel maltiness in nose. Complex flavor of bread pudding. Aftertaste is agreeable, dry.

Clear and Dark. Very malty (something I like) with plenty caramel notes. Very Nice.

Tap: Brown color and not quite clear accompanied by a nice light brown head. The aroma was earthy like peat moss with a well-balanced flavor. The aftertaste seemed to be just right, not too sweet. Out of the ones I had, this one is the only one I might consider having seconds.

Nive copper brown color draft, there is a touch of caramel in the arma. The flavor is pretty mellow and malty. Bland mild finish. meh.
