2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sampled on tap at the brewery in San Jose.
This beer is unfiltered, so it is quite cloudy. It is a reddish brown color, and has a thin tan head. Quite fruity smelling. It is lightly astringent in the finish and has quite a bit of diacetyl as well as a malty backbone, which is nice. Ultimately the diacetyl in the background distracts from this beer.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Quite tasty, despite being overwhelmingly disappointed with my Biersch visit. Probably wouldn’t order any of the Biersch offerings after trying the sampler platter in Las Vegas.

Even on tap at the brewery, this is at best an unremarkable dunkel. The flavors simply aren’t big and strong enough, and what flavors do come through aren’t too great. How could someone who went through the Weihenstepaner University of Brewing come out with no game?

Draft Las Vegas Restaurant-No carboantion or aroma. Had the taste of old malt and stale beer. Not to pleasant.
