2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer is lighter in color and aroma than their regular marzen, but much stronger in the malt flavors and dominance, to the point where I am not a fan. Overly malted for me.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottled om 08/31/2009) A mostly balanced lager that leans slight toward sweet and spicy. Clean and well made without being very distinct, which I don’t think is an issue for this style.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
nice amber color with a thin dissipating head. aroma is yeasty and spicy. flavor is malty and bready, aftertaste is a little unbalanced. sort of between an amber and nut brown ale. pretty good though not particularly memorable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: We have a bunch of these in the metro DC area, I think I’ve prob been to 3 of them, including the one in "Downtown Rockville" that I visit pretty often, I’ve had this one on tap there, specifically enjoyed quite a few these that first fall when the Rockville one opened...
I think is probably the best thing I’ve had from GB, it’s a really sold example of the style (where as most of their beers are average or sub par for their respective styles). It’s a nice enjoyable beer for the Oktoberfest season.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Fest bier, really? Not quite. Not bad, just not really on par with other more traditional fest beers. Very thin profile of malt and caramel where I would expect more.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This orange beer poured with a decent foamy off-white head. There is a decent caramel malt flavor with some hop bitterness at the finish. Drinkable but not remarkable. 12

Bottle from Total Wine in Roseville. Orangey color with a decent beige head. Smells lightly spicey. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is malt with spicey hop. Not a bad beer.
