COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once reserved for Bavarian royalty for its light sparkling quality, Hefeweizen is considerably more democratic today. In fact, at Gordon Biersch we've brewed a special batch of our Hefeweizen to serve our guests throughout July and August! Hundreds of years ago in Germany, wheat beers were considered "breakfast" or "after church" beers, a testament to their light refreshing flavor and a tradition of drinking them on weekend afternoon. We invite you to enjoy our Hefeweizen any day of the week this summer along with our special summer menu.

Pours cloudy orange/amber with nice lacing. Light tangerine aroma. Medium bodied palate is rich & creamy with good tangerine and clove flavors and a definate banana/bubblegum note. Tasty.

On tap at Gordon Biersch Restaurant in Kansas City, MO. Served in 22oz weizen glass. Aroma of citrus and floral. Golden orange color and very hazy. 1 finger white frothy head that subsided quickly. Very sweet taste and slightly bitter. Medium body and lots of carbonation. Probably second or third favorite beer at Gordon Biersch.

Tap @ Gordon Biersch Broomfield. Ahhh, an old favorite- haven’t had it in over a year so let’s see if I still enjoy it. Cloudy, yellow appearance with a white head and good lacing. Really nice spicy yeasty, big clove, moderate banana, wheat malty aroma. Flavor has more of the banana like a banana cream pie. Besides the banana, theres clove, bready yeast, and sweet banana malts. Super easy drinking. Sweeter and fruitier than I remembered but still a good version of a Hefeweizen.

Hazy yellow color! Lots of yeast and wheat in the aroma. Taste has some kick in it with a little yeast and some watery wheat. All around an okay hefeweizen.

On tap at San Francisco brew pub. Poured a beautiful, cloudy golden color with chill haze and creamy off-white foam, somewhat lasting with a little fine lace. Aromas of rising dough, bread, clove and banana. Flavors of mild barley malt, slight caramel, lots of mellow wheat, balanced hops bitterness, lots of fruity and spicy yeast esters. Light-medium body, rounded mouthfeel, lingering complex finish. Absolutely true-to-style, and one of the best examples I’ve tasted.
