COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once reserved for Bavarian royalty for its light sparkling quality, Hefeweizen is considerably more democratic today. In fact, at Gordon Biersch we've brewed a special batch of our Hefeweizen to serve our guests throughout July and August! Hundreds of years ago in Germany, wheat beers were considered "breakfast" or "after church" beers, a testament to their light refreshing flavor and a tradition of drinking them on weekend afternoon. We invite you to enjoy our Hefeweizen any day of the week this summer along with our special summer menu.

Draft sample @Syracuse location. Cloudy yellow color some head and lace. Nose and flavor is spot on for the style. Banana, clove and a real nice yeasty backbone. The body is medium and this beer will please most and wheat beer lovers.

From tap. Pours a hazy orange with frothy head. Aroma was a wheat with lite spice and citrus. Taste was medium body wheat with a good clean taste.

Let’s hear it for airport beers. There are certainly many worse out there. This hefe was a bit on the darker golden side for the style, and a bit maltier than many. Felt heavy instead of refreshing. Some banana and clove, but a bit of a sharp wheat and slight pepper vibe. Not bad, but I liked the pilsner much better.

A nice, hazy orange color with a thin white head. Hints of orange and spice along with wheat, yeast, and a little bit of sweetness.

Draft. Pours very cloudy, dark orange with a med-short head. Decent retention and lace. Bright aroma of bubblegum and coriander. Light-med sweet flavor. Medium body, prickly carbonation, sticky texture and a wheat filled finish. The pink bubblegum is persistent throughout. Would drink again.

Draught. This is a good classic hefe with the full soft motuhfeel, a little bit of citrus flavor, and a clean finish.

Put your thought of a great German Hefe in your mind. Got it? Well this hits all the points perfectly. Doesn’t try to be more than it is. In my mind the jewel of the 6 beers that I tried. Great banana esters and wheat mouthfeel. After the flight, this is the full pint that I pulled back to my table.

Airport beer on tap. Good wheat taste and light enough to have a few of these.

On tap at Gordon Biersch Dulles. Hazy butterscotch body with medium head. Nice tangy and bitter taste, also cactus. Creamy and smooth texture.

Pours a standard for the style, cloudy yellow with nice one finger head. Aroma of funky yeast and very strong banana. Taste follows with lots of banana, yeast funk, and a tad of bitterness. Not as sweet as some I have had, but I think this is actually very well done. Easy drinking and refreshing. Medium to high carbonation.
