COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once reserved for Bavarian royalty for its light sparkling quality, Hefeweizen is considerably more democratic today. In fact, at Gordon Biersch we've brewed a special batch of our Hefeweizen to serve our guests throughout July and August! Hundreds of years ago in Germany, wheat beers were considered "breakfast" or "after church" beers, a testament to their light refreshing flavor and a tradition of drinking them on weekend afternoon. We invite you to enjoy our Hefeweizen any day of the week this summer along with our special summer menu.

Put your thought of a great German Hefe in your mind. Got it? Well this hits all the points perfectly. Doesn’t try to be more than it is. In my mind the jewel of the 6 beers that I tried. Great banana esters and wheat mouthfeel. After the flight, this is the full pint that I pulled back to my table.

Pours a standard for the style, cloudy yellow with nice one finger head. Aroma of funky yeast and very strong banana. Taste follows with lots of banana, yeast funk, and a tad of bitterness. Not as sweet as some I have had, but I think this is actually very well done. Easy drinking and refreshing. Medium to high carbonation.

On tap at Washington - Dulles International Airport. Cloudy light amber body with a thin off-white creamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with yeasty and citrusy hints. Taste is well balanced. It carries banana, yeasty, and citrusy notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Enjoyable.

Appearance: light golden, very cloudy, average hefe head, very white head Aroma: banana, clove, lemon, Taste: banana taste first then a strong c02 burn then lemon comes thru Palate: very frothy and little aftertaste, burns when it hits your tongue at first due to the high c02 levels Overall: I really like this beer, a good hefe, very light and pretty high on the carbonation ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
