Draft at the Pasadena location. An unclear golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet wtih notes of banana and bubble gum. The flavor is sweet malty and wheaty with very strong notes of banana and bubble gum, leading to a dry wheaty and strawy finish.

From tap in Pasadena. Pours hazy yellow with a lacing white head. Holds a dry estery banana aroma. Mild spiced too. Dry and spiced base flavour to a solid estery bubblegum to banana flavour on top. Ends dry and estery.

Cloudy yellow. Estery banana aroma. Sweet, soft and aromatic. Light bodied with loads of cloves. Really good real hefeweizen, even if it might lack complexity.

Draught at the brewpub. Not much aroma. Cloudy orange colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is clean banana with a good subtle citrus note. Low bitterness. A pleasant wheat beer.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2008 re-rate: a little drier, cleaner than last visit. Upgraded score accordingly. old rate: Dark tan colour and cloudy. Big banana with light spice and autolyzed yeast. Sweet and soft with an appley, clovey character. Underpinning of sweet malt and a hint of wheaty tartness. The finish is a bit cloying. I respect where they’re going here but I don’t know that I like it.
