COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once reserved for Bavarian royalty for its light sparkling quality, Hefeweizen is considerably more democratic today. In fact, at Gordon Biersch we've brewed a special batch of our Hefeweizen to serve our guests throughout July and August! Hundreds of years ago in Germany, wheat beers were considered "breakfast" or "after church" beers, a testament to their light refreshing flavor and a tradition of drinking them on weekend afternoon. We invite you to enjoy our Hefeweizen any day of the week this summer along with our special summer menu.

Pours opaque orange with a decent head. Aroma is band-aid, clove, banana, vanilla, hints of lemon peel. Taste is same but with a hint of malted wheat. Body is light and effervescent but sticky and with a long clean vanilla finish. Tasty.

Draft at Gordon Biersch-Columbus. Pours a cloudy, pale yellow-gold with a big, soft white head. Aroma of bready, doughy malts, clove, banana, sugars. Flavor was almost exactly the same, soft and bready, with clove and banana, and some sugary sweetness along with some citrus. Light-medium bodied, with a bready mouthfeel and dry, sweet finish. Simple American hefe.

Pours a cloudy golden with a rocky, pillowy white head. Bread and subtle smell of bananas and vanilla in the nose. Medium sweetness with almost no bitterness. Creamy in the mouth. A solid hefe, gets better as it warms up.

On tap at Gordon Biersch Restaurant in Kansas City, MO. Served in 22oz weizen glass. Aroma of citrus and floral. Golden orange color and very hazy. 1 finger white frothy head that subsided quickly. Very sweet taste and slightly bitter. Medium body and lots of carbonation. Probably second or third favorite beer at Gordon Biersch.

Tap @ Gordon Biersch Broomfield. Ahhh, an old favorite- haven’t had it in over a year so let’s see if I still enjoy it. Cloudy, yellow appearance with a white head and good lacing. Really nice spicy yeasty, big clove, moderate banana, wheat malty aroma. Flavor has more of the banana like a banana cream pie. Besides the banana, theres clove, bready yeast, and sweet banana malts. Super easy drinking. Sweeter and fruitier than I remembered but still a good version of a Hefeweizen.
