On draught at the Rock Bottom brewing location in Charlotte, NC. Pours a deep gold, with a sudsy head that leaves decent lace. The nose is both of grains and the German Pils malt nose. Flavors grow as the brew progresses in the mouth (weird, actually): pils malt, very light and soft, almost oily upfront, building into a weird citrusy lemongrass, finally smacking into a bitter finish. Nothing feels ’Impy’ about it. It’s far out of balance and not linear whatsoever. The slick mouthfeel and soft body just make it seem like this recipe is new for the location, or experimentations are underway. Not great.

On tap; poured a dull amber/gold. Aroma of bread, sweet malt and earth. Flavor had a slightly stronger feel to their normal ones. Same general malt and yeast profile as their others. Ok

Light amber pour. Nice foamy white head. Lots if caramel malt, crackers, citrus notes. Flavor has lots of alcohol with bitter hops, apple notes, orange peel.

At the Bollingbrook, Il location 3of6 samples. This one had more of a kick than the other previous two. Just worthy of a passing grade. Smells like lots of barley and malts. Taste has a great deal of alcohol to it. Finish is smooth. I kinda dig this one a bit.

Enjoyed awhile ago at Bolingbrook for the St. Baldrick’s charity event and release day, but was waiting for Kevin to get back to me with a commercial description. Got lucky and received it in a house pint glass. The pour was a clear, orangy gold, with a frothy, off white head, and clingy ribbons of lacing. A tough read in a crowded restaurant atmosphere, but patiently picked up on aromatic citrus, light bready malt, and on further review, a light German pils character to the nose. The flavor was some sweetness, but was dominated by a strong hop bitterness which was then smoothed by equally rich malt. Noticeable alcohol was nicely woven in with this crisp and clean brew.

Had at the Bolingbrook, IL location. Clear golden with a frothy white head that lasted the whole beer. Strong pilsner aroma of grassy hops and cereal malt. Nice flavor with a good sweet to bitter balance. Long bitter finish with peppery hops. Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Alcohol is undetectable.
