This classic copper colored ale has a pronounced hop aroma to match its assertive bitterness, creating a fragrant and well balanced masterpiece.

On tap. Dark amber pour, small white head. Not much nose, slightly malty. Taste is caramel-like malts, with notes of hops.. Good beer, but not really what i was expecting from an IPA. Average carbonation, medium body.

On tap 4 oz. taster at Gordon Biersch in Rockville, MD. This may be a different beer than the typical Gordon Biersch IPA. Very hazy, amber-yellow with an off-white head and very good lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine, mango, guava and caramel. Taste of citrus, tropical fruit, pine and caramel. Medium body and medium carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy golden with a blanketous white head. Stinky fruity, hop aroma. Flavor is really on the malty side of an IPA but has some bitterness. The german influence isn’t helping this one. It is more.traditional though.

On draught at the Columbus location. The beer is a clear orange color with a medium thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of hops, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft at Gordon Biersch-Columbus. The waiter called it "Northwest-Style IPA" or some such business; it was their seasonal selection. Pours a clear copper with a small, lasting eggshell head. The aroma did suggest northwest US hops, with citrus and pine, caramel malts, toasted sugars, and crackers. The flavor followed suit; resinous and citrusy hops, earth, toasted and caramel malts. Not bad at all. Light-medium bodied, with subtle bitterness and moderate carbonation. I enjoyed this.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Expecting a ho-hum, mass-produced IPA, I gotta lotta piney, citrusy, hop aroma right off the bat. Appearance was spot on: light copper color, good, thick head. Taste was much better than I had anticipated. Hop assertiveness was there, alcohol heft was decent (though a kick up to 7 or 7.5% would make this an even more mouth watering beer). Again, I was surprised and would definitely recommend if you’re a hophead.

Draft at the Burbank location. Copper colored pour with a thick white head. Citrus and earthy hop aroma. Nice crisp malt with a balanced hop bitterness in the taste. Decent IPA.

Draft at the Las Vegas location. Orange-golden more than copper, quite dark. Frothy head. The aroma is quite earthy. It drinks with a continental palate, with a woodier/barkier hop bite than most American IPAs. There is just a hint of citric acid to finish. (#4474, 2/12/2012)
