COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tradition of the Maibock beer began in the 14th century in Einbeck, Germany. This bock beer style was so popular the brewmaster was lured away by the Bavarians to replicate the style. Gordon Biersch Maibock is rich and full-bodied, emphasizing dark roasted, caramelized Munich malt and brewed in accordance to the German Purity Law of 1516.

Very decent beer, but all in all none too exciting, leaving the action in the airport I tried it in vying for my attention

Tap@Gordon Biersch, Seattle. Pretty sweet, bready/grainy grassy, tasted like their other strong lagers. Lightly herbal finish, once again it was OK.

Ernest (5187) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 15, 2004
Draught. Body is hazy dark yellow. Aroma is moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), moderately malty (cookie, bread). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. As usual with GB, not enough bittering hops and too paint-by-numbers...but certainly passable and it seems the proper ingredients are used (no citrusy/piney hops, etc.).

On Tap at Whitby, Ontario BrewPub location. Dark brown colour, big brownish head, very muddy like. Very syrupy taste, strong alcohol presence. Slight bitterness, short finish. Didn’t really enjoy this one – tasted like one of my early homebrews gone bad.
