COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tradition of the Maibock beer began in the 14th century in Einbeck, Germany. This bock beer style was so popular the brewmaster was lured away by the Bavarians to replicate the style. Gordon Biersch Maibock is rich and full-bodied, emphasizing dark roasted, caramelized Munich malt and brewed in accordance to the German Purity Law of 1516.

Draught, Miami. Murky brown-orange. Grain husk aromas, roasted corn too. Very sweet, very husky with lots of dulce de leche caramel sweetness. Overly carbonated. Nothing like a maibock.

Source: Brewpub

Appearance: cloudy dark burnt orange, creamy off white head, heavy drippy lace,
Aroma: big bready malt aroma with and abundance of floral and earthy hops,
Flavor: rich malt flavor, nice bready character is brought out by a growing caramel sweetness, well balanced by an earthy character that provides the balance but otherwise stays out of the way,

Sample at North Scottsdale location. Pours a clear amber with minimal head. Nose is sweet malt and fruit aroma. Palate is too sweet for my taste… caramel malts, sugar, peach – a little weird to be honest

Had this down in Tempe a few weeks back and just found my notes. Amber pour with frothy white head. Roasted malt and some hints of toasted nuts. Flavor is very sweet and toasty very light hint of hops but just enough to even out the sweetness.

Orangish amber color with a nice creamy head. Aroma is carmel malt. Flavor is a fair amount of sweetish carmel malt with a moderately bitter hop presence. The hoppiness and malt dont balance well, each comes off as harsh, even though not overly strong. A fair bit of yeastiness and undertones of roasted nuts.

Hate to give such a short review to such a great beer but I lost my notes and only have my numerical ratings to go by. Had a draft at the source and can officially say, "Wow!" A great beer and the best offering that I have had from the peeps at GB. Keep it right up.

Nice pour from the tap, a clear orange body with a sustained, creamy eggshell head. Good lacing, too. It had an aroma of fresh white bread, well honeyed, with some dribblets of caramel and a shake or two or earthy hops to keep the sweetness in check. The flavor was true to the aroma, carried by a medium level of carbonation that added to its quenchability. Okay.

on tap @ papago. pours an amber honey color. what little aroma there is... malt and some subtle caramel. flavor is weak as well. earthy, nutty and some dry malt hints sit behind the spicy alcohol and high carbonation...why drink another with 30 other beers on tap?...

Color is a lovely deep honey-brown with a nice thick fine-bubbled head. Aroma is weak but pleasant and malty. Flavor is surprisingly hoppy, considering the aroma; there is a malty undertone along with a nice bitter bite. Smooth, lively, a delight to drink.

Had on tap in Columbus. Poured a nice amber color. Sorry, forgot to smell it! Flavor was VERY sweet. Caramel, honey and Malts. Pretty thick mouth feel, I thought. I actually really enjoyed this beer and it is one of my favorites from them for sure.
