COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tradition of the Maibock beer began in the 14th century in Einbeck, Germany. This bock beer style was so popular the brewmaster was lured away by the Bavarians to replicate the style. Gordon Biersch Maibock is rich and full-bodied, emphasizing dark roasted, caramelized Munich malt and brewed in accordance to the German Purity Law of 1516.

Had two 1/2 liter glasses of this wonderful brew on draught at their Washington, DC location. Deep golden color, soft carbonation, with a nice, creamy white head. The nose was malty with a touch of DMS and some peppery hints of alcohol. The palate was firm, with some great pale malt flavors. Slightly sweet with a nice hefty body. This beer finished clean and malty, with a soothing alcohol burn. Excellent domestic example of a classic German beer style.

I have problem deciding which seasonal style I like best, Maibocks, and bocks, or the Oktoberfest Marzen style beers of the Fall. Big malty nose and a caramel hop taste and bite, fairly highy ABV and the strong flavors makes this a favorite. Once again, It goes quick, so I always call to see if they have it.

Good head with fine lacing. This brewery supposedly makes Costco’s private label beer, and if that is the case than it may be the best deal on the market. GB regularly bundles this Maibock with other German styles in a twelve pack.

Aroma is very oktoberfestish/ marzen style. The appearance is a medium dark amber color very clear. The taste is very malty much like an Oktoberfest style. Crisp and medium body. It’s a bit to sweet for the style but not a bad brew. Not bitter but nvery sweet. Worth a buy to taste maybe not a rebuy

Had one of these on tap with my lunch salad at the Brewpub in Cowlumbus today. This brew pours a hazy ruddy copper. The average sized fluffy and creamy white head is mostly lasting with fair lacing. The spicy and fruity nose is very pleasant with flowery hops, caramel and cereal malt, and earthy yeast. The flavor starts spicy sweet with a flowery middle, and a very sweet caramel malt finish with a tinge of bitterness. The smooth, creamy palate is very nice with a medium body, soft carbonation and a clean finish that is somewhat chalky.

Pours a slightly hazed, yellow/orange nectar w/ good residual lacing. A white blanket just sat there forever. Nice! Aroma of sweet medicinal tropical nectar. Full nectar w/ silky, creamy residual effers. A very malty brew akin to Hansens fruit nectar. Slightly medicinal, banana, kiwi, peach nectar, slight clove spice. Theres a slightly balancing peach pit bittering component. The finish is long, semi sweet and thickly malted. An interesting brew. They told me was 9% abv at the brewery.

~Rich bready aroma with melanoidins and caramel. Light toastiness and light hop spiciness. ~Pours a clear copper color with thick lasting creamy white head. ~Sweet caramel bready flavor with melanoidins, light toastiness and light spicy hops. ~Med bodied with med to high CO2, dry malty finish that ends with dry spice. ~Excellent german style bock. A mans daily bread!

Hate to give such a short review to such a great beer but I lost my notes and only have my numerical ratings to go by. Had a draft at the source and can officially say, "Wow!" A great beer and the best offering that I have had from the peeps at GB. Keep it right up.

My favorite beer at GB, but GB’s beers are not the greatest. Golden in color. Slightly malty nose with some hoppy alcoholic tones. Started sweet and got sweeter. Hops kick in in the middle and finish with a nice ’warm’ finish.

Slightly hazy copper fluid with a lasting head of white foam. Nose is a little fruit with some hop tang. Taste is initially mildly sweet with citrus and a good alcohol warming in the finish. Mouthfeel is fluid smooth. Finishes just a little sharp. Very nice and refreshing brew.
