COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tradition of the Maibock beer began in the 14th century in Einbeck, Germany. This bock beer style was so popular the brewmaster was lured away by the Bavarians to replicate the style. Gordon Biersch Maibock is rich and full-bodied, emphasizing dark roasted, caramelized Munich malt and brewed in accordance to the German Purity Law of 1516.

Amber with white head. Malt aroma of bread, toast, a little hay. Very light citrus hop finish. Medium sweet with very lightly bitter finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and long finish. Strong malt flavor, if you like this, like I do, then you will like this beer.

An ok maibock. A bit too sweet and one-note. Pours a nice amber with a thick white head. Smells sweet, with some marzipan and a hint of coconut. Taste is sweet all around, more marzipan, slightly nutty, but not much else. Had in the bottle at the Salt Lake City Airport.

Draft. Hazy amber color, small white head. Aroma of caramel. Taste starts as caramel, then turns very slightly sour.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2014 Sampled on draft at the Las Vegas location this beer poured a murky dark amber color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet and yeasty with golden fruits. The flavor was sweet and tangy golden fruits, sugar, bread dough and a touch of booze. Long finish. Full body. Excellent.

Draft at Gordon Biersch Colombus in a 4 oz taster. Pours a clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel malts, lightly toasted, grass, mild floral hops, decent enough but not something to seek out.

Tap: Aroma has got a nice caramel note with a grassy hop texture intermingled. Appearance is a reddish/ brown with a minimal tan head that doesn’t stick around for long. Taste is very refreshing with a nice caramel malt texture and a good hop notes. Palate has got a medium carbonation with a roasted toasted aftertaste. Overall, decent stuff. Cheers!

Pour on tap at brewpub in LAX, clear dark orange pour with white head, aroma brought biscuit, bread, grass, hints of grain, touch of spice, yeast in there with a hint of floral notes, lots of caramel in the nose as well. Taste is a mix of caramel, bread, yeast, hints of slight red fruits, some spice, finishing fairly dry, spicy, slightly sweet.
