2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PD4Ever (15) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JAN 21, 2012
Served in 22oz glass at Gordon Biersch Restaurant in Kansas City, MO. Very faint aroma of malt. Little to no head. Beer was a amber and very clear. Looked very appealing. Taste was good, a little sweet. Very light body. Thin/slick texture and lively carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing. Not much finish.

Poured from a draft into my Gordon Biersch mug. Color was mostly caramel looking. About two inches of cloudy and puffy head. Nice amount of bubbly lacing. Good looking film on the side, but sporadic.
First smell the came to mind was toasty malts. Very malty. Also sweet caramel and bread.
Tasted like a pilsner. Bready and wheaty, but sweet at the same time.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Fizzy (lots of) carbonation. Slick finish.
Probably their signature beer, but I am just not a fan of it. Their seasonal beers are usually their best.

After dropping Kara off at the airport, Joe and I stopped in for dinner and a tasting. Pours orange/amber in color with a light off-white head that fades quickly. Little or no lacing. Sweet/sour aroma with hints of brown sugar and apple. Toasty flavor with hints of toffee and apple, and a slight citrus undertone. Avg.

Pint, at RDU airport. Ok aroma sweet. Caramel, little bready yeastiness. Clean orange copper color, good head, minor lace. Bitter flavor. Lite body slightly syrypy mouthfeel. Sweet finish. It’s ok doesn’t offend, doesn’t inspire. Flavor best part. Nice malt flavor.

Smell is not skunky. Draw is best characterized as heavy apple taste or heavy acetyl in brewer speak. Finish is sweet. After taste is the same if not worse than any other skunky domestic lager. I picked this up on a whim; I should have picked up a 12 pack of Miller High Life if I knew it would be this quality.
