3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Bricks (457) - Delaware, USA - DEC 29, 2012Excellent coppery amber appearance with a moderately foamy head. Smells of syrupy malt, slightly skunky. A relatively neutral taste, some watery malt and barley. Not bad. Fairly bitter mouthfeel, but smooth. It’s decent.

12 oz bottle into a regular glass.
A: Pours a darker copper color. There’s a nice head here, four fingers high (due to an aggressive pour) and barely off-white in shade. While it fades quickly, it leaves behind a nice amount of lacing on the glass. The stronger retention away from the edges of the glass suggests a decent hop bill.
S: There is some sweet caramel typical of the style. I like the mild yet noticeable noble hopping, otherwise there isn’t much to note here.
T: Touches of sweet caramel give way to a raisiny back end. Hops only seem to be here as a cleansing agent, which isn’t really disappointing given its relative lack of freshness. Not bad, but it could use a touch less sweetness.
M: A bit heavier and less carbonated than I like from my marzens. The finish could also have less sweetness. It goes down okay.
O: Eh. It’s a decent marzen that gets the job done - even still, there are better choices on the market.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cybercat (2477) - Georgia, USA - APR 12, 2013
Comes out of the tap a beautiful clear golden amber with a substantial pale wheat head. Robust aroma has apple, banana and malty notes and more than a hint of caramel. Flavor delights with malty, fruity and caramel notes and just a hint of woody hops. Texture, though not substantial, has a decent fizz. Good as an accompaniment to a meal, though fine by itself.

A decent oktoberfest-style beer. Great auburn color. Nice combination of sweet and burnt. But still doesn’t smell great and is relatively unremarkable.
