(Miami) Draft. Poured dark brown with a average frothy off-white head that diminished slowly. Good toasted malt aroma. Medium body. Solid sweet roasted malt flavor with a smooth light bitter finish. Solid brew.

On tap @ Gordon Biersch Flatirons poured a clear dark brown with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, toffee, light smoke, light carmel and a hint of licorice. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, camel, lighjt fruittiness and light smoke with a smooth bittersweet finish.

(DC) Beige head, dark cola body, nice lacing. Aroma is mild, medium sweet, some roasty, light coffee, faint chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, roasty, light coffee, nutty. Light-medium body.

A dark clear mahoganny brown bock with a thin off white head. A pleasant smokey malt aroma, quite smooth light chocolate. In mouth, a nice lightly peaty chocolate, very restrained, but overall, pleasant. On tap at GB Cleveland airport, Sept. 6 2010.

[Miami]–on tap-pours a Schwarzbier tight foamy tan head and copper color. Aroma is roasty medium malt-some toffee. Taste is roasty medium malt-some toffee, some spice hops.

Draught at Colorado Springs Airport. Pours black with brown highlights and an average, foamy, light brown head, somewhat lasting, spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, chocolate, nutty), light hops (herbs), average yeast (dough) with notes of dust and paper. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness; roasted light chocolate malt flavor with a tingling carbonation at the end.

Sampled on draft at the Virginia Beach location. Pours a clear dark copper/red color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel, light roast and nuts. Taste is very nutty with caramel, light roasted malts, light smoke. Smooth but thin bodied.

[2/20/15] Draught at Gordon Biersch Mission Valley in San Diego. Dark brown. Aroma of roast, coffee, caramel and some diacetyl. Sweetish flavor with roast, a faint buttery note, a nutty note and a drier finish with a coffee hint. Light to medium-bodied, kinda over-carbonated. Easy-drinking.
